Dillon Brooks earning his 16th technical foul with a groin kick has fans losing it: “Closeted Draymond Green fanatic”
29-year-old Houston Rockets star Dillon Brooks uses his toughness and defense to help his team reach the playoffs.

Houston Rockets star Dillon Brooks' groin kick nets 16th tech
The Houston Rockets play a brand of basketball that depends on their toughness and athleticism. The young squad have used that method to defeat some of the big teams on their way up the Western Conference ladder. The athleticism comes from their youth, but the toughness starts with Dillon Brooks.
The Canadian star has a reputation of trying to get into the minds of their opponents. It first caught the attention of basketball fans when he went up against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Since then, he has used that tactic against every opponent his team faces.
Be it superstars or even average players, Dillon Brooks does not seem to care. He sets the tone, and his team follow it regardless of who they are playing. But sometimes his antics go over the top. For instance, his fights with other players have become part of his legacy.
His stare downs might be the simplest ones to handle. But some plays do end up looking dirty enough that it warrants an ejection. Against the Utah Jazz tonight, one such play looked dirty enough to warrant a technical foul.

It's his 16th tech this season which will lead to a one-game suspension pic.twitter.com/p9hiXgnhJc
Early in the first quarter, the 29-year-old backed up Colin Sexton. As Brooks turned around to launch for a shot, Sexton slapped the ball out of his hands. As a reaction, Brooks threw his arms and legs into the air. The latter caught the Utah Jazz guard in his groin, instantly bringing out the whistle.
Fans shake their heads after Dillon Brooks’ groin kick
This was Dillon Brooks’ 16th technical foul, which means he earns an automatic suspension. He will miss the top of the West clash against the Oklahoma City Thunder on April 4th. But fans are not bothered about the suspension as much they on what led to it.
They saw the Canadian resorting to a dirty play that Draymond Green has resorted to several times. They believe he was inspired by the Golden State Warriors star and added this to his repertoire. Fans believe he is improving his ability to play dirty. Check out examples of those comments below.

Fans know Dillon Brooks plays hard-nosed basketball. One benefit is that his defense helps the Houston Rockets immensely. On top of that, he provides enough production on offense to keep the game in their hands. Fans believe he does not need to resort to such plays. But since he does, it shows it is his innate character.
Suspension to impact Dillon Brooks’ $1 million playoff bonus
Last season, the Houston Rockets came very close to snatching the final play in spot. In any other season, their 41-41 record would have been enough for a postseason berth. Their late season rally gave many the idea that this young team was going to get better.
But no one envisioned they would get better by this much. The Rockets started the season strong and continued to their string of exceptional results. Excepting a wild six-game losing streak around early February, they have been consistently winning. That has led to a stellar 50-27 record.
He will net $872K when factoring in a likely 1 game suspension for picking up his 16th technical. https://t.co/55k7OwtW9w

They have cemented a playoff spot for the first time since the 2019-20 season. This meant, Dillon Brooks‘ $1 million bonus triggered. However, as per ESPN’s Bobby Marks, he will only receive $872K after factoring the upcoming one-game suspension.
That kick to the groin cost him $128K in bonuses. It might not impact his finances considering he right now earns $21.5 million a season. But no one likes to leave money on the table. In this case, his right leg cost his that amount.
