As basketball fans find LeBron James playing at an elite level in his 23rd season, Dillon Brooks‘ antics remained the same, especially when it comes to battling the Lakers’ superstar.
He seems to have taken a keen interest in the league’s all-time leading scorer from his time with the Memphis Grizzlies. At that time, his claims of being able to lock down the 4-time champion ended up biting him back badly.
But that has not stopped the Canadian from at least trying, as he has tried to keep the pressure on LeBron James during his previous stop with the Houston Rockets, and now with the Phoenix Suns.
After their first clash this season, Dillon Brooks claimed that he was not one of James’ favorites, as he was not willing to ‘bow down’ to the King.
Then came their 2nd clash, and the 4-time league MVP replied by giving the Suns star a taste of his own medicine. Brooks was ejected, and his team ended up losing the game.
He’s a social media junkie… He thinks that people should think a way about him… I’m not going to play that way. Gets in his moods or in his modes or whatever it is. I’m all for that. I wish we let him shoot that shot. Should have been an airball.

The 29-year-old was responding to a question about how LeBron James defused their clash later in front of reporters. Dillon Brooks believes that was an attempt to make sure the Lakers’ star’s image stays intact.
LeBron James asked to do more on defensive end
In that win against the Phoenix Suns, LeBron James’ ejection of Dillon Brooks helped, as he then drew a foul on a 3-point shot, and the free throws sealed the deal.

If one had to analyze the game and those they lost this month, the Lakers have struggled on defense, especially against faster, physical teams. It seems head coach JJ Redick has noticed that.
It was good. We talked about a lot – not just that. But he was right. You’ve got to get a little bit more, especially from the star players. So that’s on us, that’s on me.
Luka Doncic revealed
This was the Slovenian’s response when reporters asked him about a possible meeting that included his head coach and the oldest player in the league.

Doncic agreed that he and James, along with some other veteran players, need to step up defensively if they are to stop the inconsistent run and resume their task of winning every game.
Kevin Durant believes LeBron James is still improving his game
As LeBron James works through his 23rd season, he has had to adapt not just to his declining physical abilities, but he has also learned to adjust according to the defensive schemes on offer.
I feel like LeBron is still getting better at his game. I feel like he recently mastered his game at like 38. He added a 3-pointer, he added a fadeaway, and he’s more consistent.
Kevin Durant said on the Unguarded Podcast
This was longtime rival and close friend Kevin Durant‘s opinion on how his Paris Olympics teammate has been improving his ‘old age’ game to perfection.

The Houston Rockets star noticed James resorting to his 3-point shot, fadeaways, and other methods to score as defenses have taken away what he was known for in his early days.
Durant believes the Lakers’ superstar has become more consistent, which is why he can still produce at an All-NBA level at an age where other players have wilted away.
