Zoran Mamic and his brother Zdravko were found guilty of corruption charges that were placed against them in 2018. On Monday Zoran Mamic was sentenced to 4 years and 8 months of imprisonment.

Mamic in his personal statement says that he wasn’t guilty but resigned quickly to reduce problems for the club as he was sentenced on Monday.

Although I don’t feel guilty, I resign as I said before I would do if the sentence was confirmed,” Mamic said in a statement on the official club website.
“I wish all the good luck to the club.”

Dinamo Zagreb now have a huge task on their hand as they will be facing Tottenham Hotspur after trailing 2-0 from the first leg. The club has already appointed Damir Krznar as the new coach who will be in charge of the match against Tottenham Hotspur.
