Diogo Jota risks being out for two months for Liverpool after a knee injury

Liverpool’s Diogo Jota was rested for 70+ minutes in the match against Wolves and made a start against Midtjylland. Fans of the club didn’t understand the reason for why so many of the first team players to have travelled to Denmark. As a result of being played, his ‘knock’ has become a knee injury which could potentially rule him out for 2 months and even become 7 months.
Bummer of a decision from Jurgen Klopp, to be honest
It was a dead rubber of a match against Midtjylland in Denmark as Liverpool had already qualified and were assured of first place in the group. Jurgen Klopp had the chance to rest most of his first team players and field a healthy mix of young and experienced players. In fact, Liverpool had actually had most of its first team players back and all the positions were filled. Why Diogo Jota, Fabinho and Mohamed Salah were fielded is a decision no one can understand.

He could have fielded this side and this team would have played for a draw. The young players would have gained experience at the highest level while some of the fringe players would have got their minutes. That Jurgen Klopp went for an almost full strength team is baffling.
Diogo Jota picked up a knock in that match and now has been ruled out for the Fulham match. It remains to be seen how serious the injury is and how long he will be out. Liverpool fans will hope that nothing is serious as he is a vital player for the club and not just a back-up player anymore.
