One in Sao Paolo, One in Philadelphia – The Philadelphia Eagles got the best of Green Bay Packers twice in this season. The Eagles defeated the Packers 10-22 at their home ground to advance to the Divisional Playoffs.
The Green Bay Packers (11-6) had a pretty solid regular season. The Packers, despite finishing third in their division, managed to make the postseason and matched against one of the toughest opponents. They even had a better footing than two of the two divisional winners, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams.
It all came crashing down at Lincoln Financial Field. Everything that could go wrong went wrong for the Packers. Quarterback Jordan Love threw three interceptions which the Eagles capitalized with a 4-0 turnover including a Green Bay fumble on the game’s opening kickoff. The defense was Swiss Cheese when Jalen Hurts aimed at his receivers or when Dallas Goedert ran an angry touchdown.
Matt LaFleur, Green Bay Packers head coach, opened up on the hard loss in the post game media availability. He expressed that the loss and the season acts as a developing block for their future endeavours as they chase first Super Bowl glory since 2010.
The Green Bay Packers need to start winning games early on and against the big teams like Philadelphia Eagles and their divisional giants Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions. The Packers are 6-0 against teams with more wins than them.
Matt LaFleur gave away all the credit to the Philadelphia Eagles
The Green Bay Packers weren’t the strongest team in the game. The Eagles, having an idea of what works against the Packers, utilised their knowledge from Week 1 to record the sensational win over the Packers. They played their A game to ensure their longevity as multiple players shone brightly with standout performances.
Matt LaFleur didn’t hold back on commenting how his team lined up against the Eagles to avenge their earlier loss in Brazil. He admitted that the Eagles were the better team, and they deserved the credit for the victory.
The statements has since been criticised by national media and Packers’ fans as a throwing under the bus move from the coach. The timings are also not in favor of LaFleur, who’s facing a warmer hotseat as the season comes to a conclusion.

LaFleur’s struggles with clock management, questionable decision-making in key moments, repeated challenge failures, inability to elevate the offense, ongoing discipline issues among players, and slow starts against top-tier opponents have left fans frustrated. As the 2024 season concluded with a disappointing and lackluster performance, these recurring issues have become central to the growing dissatisfaction surrounding the team’s direction.
