Khyree Jackson’s life tragically ended in the early hours of Saturday, July 6. The 24-year-old cornerback died in a car accident in Maryland.

First pictures of the crashed Dodge Charger arose following the accident. Pictures recovered by TMZ showed that the vehicle was completely damaged with the front half detached from the rest of the body.

In another photo, the car was on top of a tow truck. NBC News was on the scene as Police cleared out the area.

Jackson along with two of his high school friends Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton were inside the Dodge. The cops discovered that Silver Infiniti, allegedly driven by Cori Clingman, attempted to change lanes at high speeds.

Jackson, who was in the backseat of the Dodge, got in between the Infiniti and Chevy Impala. His car then collided with a bunch of trees before coming to a halt. By then the care was flattened by the impact. Jackson and Hazel reportedly died on the spot and Lytton was taken to the hospital.

Just a couple of months ago, the Minnesota Vikings selected Khyree Jackson in the fourth draft round. After the tragic accident, the organization released a statement on social media.

We are devastated by the news of Khyree Jackson’s death following an overnight car accident. Our thoughts are with Khyree’s family, friends, teammates and coaches, as well as all the victims of this tragic accident.

Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah issued a statement as well.

I am heartbroken by the loss of Khyree [Jackson]. His story was one of resilience. He was taking steps to become the best version of himself not just for him, but for those who cared about and looked up to him. Khyree's personality captured every room he was in.

Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy penned a heartfelt message for Jackson.

Too much ahead of him. Rest in peace to a phenomenal athlete but more importantly a really ----- great man. See you in the next life fam.
JJ McCarthy said

McCarthy and Jackson had formed a great understanding in their two months together in Minnesota. Unfortunately, the Vikings fans will never witness Jackson’s greatness in purple which he showcased while playing for Oregon and Alabama.
