#DIY members Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa won their first major titles on the main roster on the July 5 episode of SmackDown. They defeated Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, thanks to their remarkable in-ring chemistry. Fast forward three weeks, and the duo has discovered who will challenge them for their titles next.

On the latest episode of SmackDown, a tag team Gauntlet match was held to determine the No. 1 contenders for the tag titles. The Street Profits delivered an inspirational performance as they eliminated three teams. However, The Bloodline pairing of Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga proved to be too much for them, with The Samoan Werewolf finishing the match with a picture-perfect moonsault.

After The Bloodline’s victory, tag champs Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa sent a message to the challengers. They introduced themselves properly and declared that they were the best tag team alive. Despite Fatu and Tama both having fearsome personalities, they didn’t back down from a fight and accepted the challenge.

Werewolf, Jacob Fatu, Bloodline. I don’t think we’ve been properly introduced. I’m 'The Blackheart'. This is 'Johnny Wrestling'. Together, we are the greatest tag team alive. You want the WWE Tag Team Titles? Any time, any place. Boys, you have a receipt coming your way.

Both stars have a score to settle with The Bloodline, especially Jacob, as he attacked them on the July 12 episode of SmackDown. #DIY also warned them, saying that the receipt was coming their way. Only time will tell whether they can retain the tag titles or if The Bloodline will usher in a new era of dominance.

#DIY expressed their desire to elevate the tag team division

It seems that after winning their first titles on the main roster, Gargano and Ciampa were not satisfied. They didn’t want to be recognized just as the Tag Team Champions. In fact, they felt they had the ability to elevate the entire division.

While speaking with Phil Strum on the Under The Ring podcast, Johnny Wrestling made it clear that they were the best champions. He expressed his desire to elevate the tag division to new heights, which hasn’t happened in WWE for many years. They wanted an opportunity to increase the prestige of the tag titles, and now they have it.

Being WWE Tag Team Champions, there's so much lineage in those titles. We aren't just happy being champions. We want to take the tag team division to new heights, we believe in tag team wrestling. We believe in the tag team division.

Many tag teams are waiting for #DIY to drop the title. Teams like the Street Profits, Pretty Deadly, and The Bloodline are all in line for a title opportunity. With The Bloodline becoming the No. 1 contenders, many fans are predicting that the dominant faction will walk out as the new champs. Without a doubt, Gargano and Ciampa will be eager to prove them wrong.
