The Chicago Bears suffered their second straight loss as they faltered 29-9 at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals. The team did not look prepared and quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 217 yards but failed to set his teammates up for a score in the endzone. Amid the team’s struggles, one of their key wide receivers seemed to quit on them.
Wide receiver DJ Moore took himself off the field early in the first quarter on an extended scramble play where Caleb Williams was struggling to find an open man to throw the ball to. Moore ran a route towards the left of the field but soon after, he was seen limping off to the sidelines.
It was unclear what went wrong at that moment for him. DJ Moore limped two steps before walking normally on the sidelines. The wideout could have had a tight hamstring, not a serious injury as he was able to return instantly. However, Moore’s reluctance to finish the play did not sit well with the team’s fanbase.
Fans call out DJ Moore and believe he wants out of Chicago
The wideout ended the game with four receptions for 33 yards. He was targeted the most throughout the game having nine targets come toward his way. It was not the only injury of the night for the Bears as Caleb Williams suffered an ankle injury but fortunately, it was not a serious one.

Fans were not happy with this play. They pointed out the patterns displayed by Moore this season that make it seem like the wide receiver no longer wants to play for the Bears. Here’s how they reacted to the play on X:
Again giving up… his attitude has been horrible all year.

He’s given up. He realizes Caleb can’t find the open guys and runs in circles all day

DJ was sitting down on the bench before the play was even over lol.

DJ Moore is not the same this year

Once he steps out (maybe on accident) he can’t be the first receiver to touch a ball. Maybe he’s coached to get out of the play – so as not be confused with an eligible receiver.

He's seemed off all season. Curious to know what his/Caleb dynamic is like, but he seems checked out. Not good, and not sure that a OC change fixes that.

What was the injury? Hopefully, he didn't just give up on the play.

Why is no one discussing DJs lack of effort. It’s been on film multiple times. @theqbschool has documented it in the early weeks when losses were coming. If he’s really hurt there, fine, but there have been too many instances of him lacking effort. Questioning the culture rn

He lost the mind and forgot what to do .

He’s just a poor sport

Moore was critical of the team’s offense after the loss. In his postgame press conference, he was asked if the team should have another person calling the plays.
I don’t think that will happen. We just got to go back to the drawing board and start putting people in different positions to be able to move the ball and stay on the same page and stick together.
DJ Moore replied
The real reason for him stepping out of bounds remains unknown but it would be wrong to presume he ‘gave up’ on the play until there is clarity on the situation.
