Gilbert Arenas blames Doc Rivers for failing Giannis and the Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks are currently struggling under the supervision of coach Doc Rivers. With the team losing their fourth game of the season, things are getting muddy for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Commenting on the situation, Gilbert Arenas blamed the team’s new head coach for their losses.

This season was projected to be a strong year for the Bucks, given the fact that Damian Lillard and Antetokounmpo will finally have abundant time playing together. However, their recent blowout loss to the Memphis Grizzlies showed us exactly why the team is only 1-4 for the season.

He [Antetokounmpo] played worse under Doc, everything dropped under Doc, he was playing fine under Adrian… it just don’t make no sense, you get a new coach and all of a sudden you don’t have an identity… whatever you’re struggling with now, why didn’t it looked like that in 30-13… you [Antetokounmpo] asked for this.

The NBA veteran criticized the Bucks front office’s decision to fire their former head coach Adrian Griffin. At the time of his removal, the Bucks were boasting a 30-13 record. Contrary to Griffin’s record, the team’s current record is 19-24 under Rivers following the 122-99 loss to the Grizzlies.

Arenas also criticized Antetokounmpo for his ‘no identity’ comments earlier in the season, blaming the Greek star for the appointment of Rivers as the team’s new head coach. Lillard and Antetokounmpo will have to tighten up their superstar abilities as the team is currently 13th in the Eastern Conference standings.

Scottie Pippen Jr. throws shade at Bucks assistant coach after team’s fourth straight loss

Following their loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Bucks have marked their fourth consecutive loss of the season. The loss came after Damian Lillard’s worst game in a Bucks uniform. The team’s point guard managed to score only four points in 33 minutes of play.

Former Los Angeles guard Scottie Pippen Jr. took the credit for Lillard’s lackluster performance. The Grizzlies guard seemingly mentioned Bucks assistant coach Darvin Ham to be his sole motivator for it.

I definitely took that matchup personally… One of the coaches over there didn’t believe in me, so I had to show him that I could play defense.

Ham was the Lakers head coach when Pippen Jr. was still on the Lakers. Bad blood seems to remain between the two after Pippen’s comments. Many players have also stepped forward to express their disapproval of Ham’s decisions during his tenure as the Lakers coach.
