Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts can possibly change positions in 2025. According to GM Brandon Gomes, the Dodgers will move Betts to the infield position, opening up a huge possibility of an outfielder position.
Currently, the two most prominent outfielders on LA’s radar are – Teoscar Hernandez and Juan Soto. While there are others to play outfield, the team will focus on signing Hernandez, who was an integral part of the World Series win. Many doubt Soto would want to go back West, but it’s a possibility that can’t be brushed aside.
On the other hand, Gavin Lux can be a trade possibility for the team as he had difficulties adjusting to the defense last year. The LA Dodgers can also pursue shortstop Willy Adames, Tommy Edman, Andy Pages, James Outman, or Chris Taylor.
The possibilities are endless, but bringing back Hernandez is their current priority. They have offered the outfielder $21.05 million for 2025, which he is likely to refuse. Either he’ll stay with the Dodgers with the said amount or try to negotiate with the team for a long-term deal.
General manager Brandon Gomes further added that Mookie Betts makes the team comfortable when shifting positions, as he can adjust almost anywhere. Furthermore, his winning mindset and selflessness “permeates through the team” ultimately motivating them.

Gomes further feels like moving Betts to the infield will decrease the toll on his body and make sure he’s ready for the postseason run. After winning the World Series, the team is already planning their next championship move for the 2025 season.
Dodgers already planning for 2025 World Series win after recent accomplishment
The taste of champagne has not even disappeared from the recent LA parade but the Dodgers are already planning to “run it back” in 2025. Every member of the organization is fired up to win not one but at least “five or six” more Championship rings as per Mookie Betts.
Following the recent general managers’ meeting, Brandon Gomes is trying to figure out moves for a better chance in the 2025 season run. They are not afraid to go deep, especially considering the number of superstars in the free agency this time around.

Manager Dave Roberts spoke about how they are ready to do this again in 2025. First baseman Freddie Freeman also echoed the same sentiment, saying, “I can’t wait to run this back next year.” Clayton Kershaw noted, “Two-time champ, and a lot more coming! Let’s go.”
There’s a rumor going that the Los Angeles Dodgers are heavy favorites to sign Roki Sasaki. With Juan Soto and Teoscar Hernandez also in consideration, the Dodgers lineup will prove to be intimidating in 2025.
