UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria‘s brother, Alexandre Topuria, is ready to make his much anticipated UFC debut. The fighter will go against another debutant Colby Thicknesse at UFC 312. Being Topuria’s brother and teammate, Alexandre isn’t new to the UFC setting and is looking pretty confident.
The Topuria brothers have always trained with each other and being Ilia’s big brother, Alexandre has helped him in all the fights. However, this time, the roles are reversed and the featherweight champion aims to make sure that his brother is in top condition. In a recent promotional interaction, both fighters showed their mutual respect without losing their competitive edge.
In a lie detector game, Ilia asked his brother Alexandre about how he feels about a fight between them. The older brother was quick to answer that he was confident that he would beat the featherweight king. While it was all fun and banter, Alexandre’s confidence was something that impressed Ilia.

Ilia himself is famous for having an incredible mentality and he has shown that again and again inside the octagon. He promised to knock out Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway and went on to do the exact same thing. It seems like the supreme confidence in their abilities runs deep in the Topuria family.

Ilia and Alexandre Topuria share a strong bond built on family, training, and mutual support. Alexandre introduced Ilia to combat sports, guiding his journey and shaping him to become the champion. He now serves as Ilia’s mentor, cornerman, and strategist, achieving MMA success. Together, they co-founded Climent Club where they train future fighters to expand their brand and earn more money for the family.
Aleksandre hasn’t competed since a first-round TKO win in May 2023. He was gearing up for his next fight on the Spanish regional scene. However, the elder brother had to put that away when Ilia received the UFC featherweight title shot. He was one big reason for Ilia’s incredible strategies and game plan.
Ilia got the UFC call to fight with Volkanovski. So, I had to put everything on the side. Focus on him, I did, we got the job done thank God. My plans were a little different. Make some fights outside of the UFC.
