Miami Dolphins rookie running back Ollie Gordon exploded on the sideline when the Dolphins hosted the Baltimore Ravens at Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday (October 30) night. An upset Gordon was seen involved in a heated exchange with a Dolphins coach.
Three minutes after the Ravens took a 14-3 lead in the second quarter, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa connected with wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. However, the referee threw a yellow flag to halt the Dolphins’ celebration.
After a brief discussion among the referees, the main official penalized Gordon for tripping the Ravens linebacker Mike Green, which stopped Green from landing a hit on Tagovailoa. However, a different angle showed that Gordon did not touch Green as he had hurdled to evade the sixth-round draft pick.

Shortly after, Gordon was caught in a screaming battle with the Dolphins’ associate head coach and running backs coach Eric Studesville inside the Miami dugout.

Ollie Gordon’s injury update
Gordon has seen the actions frequently, being a first-year backup to De’Von Achane. His best numbers came in the Falcons’ win, in which he had 10 carries for 46 yards and 1 receiving touchdown.

The 21-year-old’s touches were predicted to increase to ease the load over Achane in the Ravens fixture. However, Gordon went off injured midway through the first half.
Baltimore safety, Malaki Starks, fell on Gordon’s left foot while stopping the forward progress of Malik Washington. Camera footage showed Gordon’s foot rolling under Stark’s body pressure.
I’ll be curious if Ollie Gordon misses any time. Foot/ankle didn’t take a ton of stress from the defender. If it’s high ankle, could be on the mild side, unless it’s more of a deltoid ligament sprain. pic.twitter.com/LnNWbTNd5O

Gordon went to the blue medical tent, and moments later, the Dolphins announced the bad news.
“Injury Update | Ollie Gordon II has an ankle injury and is questionable to return,” the Dolphins tweeted.

Gordon wasn’t the only Dolphins player who succumbed to injury on Thursday. Second-year linebacker Chop Robinson suffered a concussion in the first half. He walked off into the locker room and was ruled out for the rest of the game.
Chop Robinson with his head covered by towels took a very slow walk to locker room and looks to have to be helped by a trainer to get there. He was being evaluated for a concussion. Scary: pic.twitter.com/zXNm4zE5of

Who is Ollie Gordon?
Gordon, who hails from Fort Worth, Texas, graduated from Trinity High School before committing to play for the Oklahoma State Cowboys in 2022. He spent three years as the starter for the Cowboys, racking up 39 appearances and 27 starts.
During his sophomore year in 2023, Gordon had 2062 scrimmage yards from 324 carries for 22 rushing touchdowns. He won the Doak Walker Award and the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year award. Following a lackluster 2024, Gordon declared for the draft and was selected in the sixth round (179th overall) by the Dolphins.
