The Miami Dolphins managed to secure a direly needed win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 10 and ended their seven-game losing streak against them. However, they also recorded one of the bizarre and worst starts to a football game.
The Dolphins won the coin toss against the Bills in Week 10 and chose to receive to open Sunday’s game in Miami. The opening sequence unraveled quickly. With the clock still showing 15:00, Dolphins fullback Alec Ingold was flagged for a false start. The Miami team called a timeout before any time had actually elapsed in the game.

Mike McDaniel, the Miami Dolphins head coach, addressed the timeout in the post-game interaction. He admitted that he was trying not to be fined.
Oh yeah, I’m trying to get fined, so I called a timeout to have an information gathering session and we had a nice, direct conversation before moving on with our lives.
Miami followed with two short completions before QB Tua Tagovailoa attempted a deep pass that was intercepted, functioning essentially as an arm punt. Tagovailoa leads the NFL this season in most interceptions with 12 so far.

Though the Dolphins didn’t make an instant impact after that nice direct conversation, they did quickly bounce back and silenced the Bills effortlessly. The Dolphins had a 16-0 lead on the struggling Bills in the first half and added 14 more points in the fourth quarter to edge Josh Allen and his roster to a 30-13 disappointing loss.
The Dolphins also exposed Allen, who has dropped considerably in the MVP rankings. He threw an interception while completing two touchdowns and 306 yards. Additionally, De’Von Achane and his big plays really tore through the Bills’ defense. Achane finished with 22 carries for 174 yards and two touchdowns, marking the second-highest rushing yardage total of his three-year career.
Mike McDaniel ripped apart by the fans for his unconventional move against the Bills
The Miami Dolphins got rid of their general manager last week, which was a drama on its own, fueled by hints of racial allegations by eminent broadcasters. However, the head coach, Mike McDaniel, held on to his job despite the weak record then.

In the successive week, McDaniel and his men seemed to have cleaned up their act a bit, and they made a hint at a bounce back. Nonetheless, the emotions ahead of the game were quite different, and it showed when the Dolphins called that timeout before any time could be lapsed.
Ari Meirov had to include the fact that he wasn’t joking when he tweeted the Dolphins’ decision to call a timeout.

I'm not joking.
The Dolphins fans and trolls took it to X and other social media platforms and mocked McDaniel for the out-of-place timeout. There were also calls for McDaniel to be fired from the job.

However, a few online were more curious to know what the content of the nice and direct conversation was that led the Dolphins to an explosive first half.
