Tua Tagovailoa never bothered to keep his fondness for Donald Trump a secret, despite risking backlash from the section of fans who don’t like the President of the USA. The Miami Dolphins quarterback was recently seen spending time with Trump’s family members in Florida.

Tagovailoa and Braxton Berrios hosted Ivanka Trump and her son down in South Beach, according to photos on social media. However, it’s unclear whether Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner was among the visiting contingent or not.

One of the photos shared by Trump’s daughter on Instagram captured a moment between her son Joseph Fredrick Kushner and Tua Tagovailoa, engrossed in a friendly competition of chess.

No sooner than Tua’s photo with young Joseph went viral, fans called out the 27-year-old QB. They were unhappy that he was associating himself with Trump’s family.

NFL Twitter mocked Tua, mentioning his past when he suffered due to concussions.

The Dolphins were tipped for a deep playoff run after Tagovailoa signed a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension. However, a concussion during the Thursday night fixture against the Buffalo Bills rearranged the Dolphins’ entire season. Even after returning to the field after completing the concussion protocol, Tagovailoa wasn’t the same as before the injury.

While the season progressed, Tua’s wife Annah Gore proclaimed their support for Donald Trump before the presidential election. There were even rumors that Tagovailoa and Annah attended Trump’s rally in Miami last year, but no evidence was found of their presence.

Since then, Tua and his wife have been on and off about showing support for Trump and his presidency. The recent involvement with Ivanka and her son only shows they have a favorable relationship with each other. Regardless, the Dolphins fans would prefer Tua focuses more on his training and polish his skills during the off season instead of playing chess with kids.
