Miami Dolphins quarterback and devout personality Tua Tagovailoa has taken a leaf from his faith and decided not to let the sun go down on his anger. The quarterback reflected on his words from a few days which had indicated that there might be some rift between him and a star wideout on his squad, Tyreek Hill.
Tyreek Hill had made news last year after his shade following the Dolphins’ playoff miss. The highly televised comments from the wideout had initially led to rumors of him leaving the club ahead of the new season. Tagovailoa referenced these comments, where he echoed that there’s no hiding about it.
Tagovailoa had noted that the recovery from such a hurtful statement starts from the scratch. Nevertheless, he added that Hill has opened up more with his teammates and has put in the work to build that trust. During a segment on NFL Network, Tagovailoa added more context to his words from a few days ago.
Tagovailoa claimed that he wasn’t trying to speak bad of his teammate but he wanted to highlight the need of accountability:
I don’t feel it’s me talking bad about my teammate. I’m just trying to hold him accountable, because that’s what we try to do with everyone on our team. And if this is what we say the standard is, that’s what the standard is, and no one is exempt from it.

For Miami’s sake, Hill and Tagovailoa have no ill will between them. As Tagovailoa enters his sixth year, the Miami Dolphins are still chasing their first playoff win since 2000.
The Dolphins have made only 6 playoff appearances in the 21st century, the last being in 2023, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wildcard Round. If they are to finally break the 25-year-long curse, they will need their QB1 and WR1 to be on good terms, or they will find themselves fighting a losing battle.
Has there been irreparable damage in the Dolphins locker room?
The quarterback might have added more depth to the troubles and removed a percentage of the lingering doubt about the chemistry between him and his No.1 wideout. However, a famous analyst admitted that he thinks that there has been irreparable damage.

Colin Cowherd recently addressed the Hill drama on his show The Herd. The analyst mentioned that it’s time for the Dolphins to move on from the wideout. Cowherd argued that Miami should focus on more dependable players who help build a strong team culture and balance.
While Tyreek Hill is still one of the best in the game, Cowherd admitted that it’s time for the Dolphins to move on before the off-field issues become bigger than the benefits Hill brings. He reflected on the incidents from the past season, pointing out Hill’s public revelation of his desire to shift bases. Cowherd added that despite the eventual apology, it has done little to alleviate the tension. Wounds do leave behind scars, after all.
