After wanting out following the final game of the season, Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver now wants the team to add quality players to make a playoff push in 2025.

Tyreek Hill suffered a meltdown following the Miami Dolphins’ lackluster season. The star wide receiver who ditched the Kansas City Chiefs and moved to South Beach to win Super Bowls ended up rage-quitting on the Dolphins.
On the final day of the regular season, Hill, who was all in for the Dolphins after signing a new contract, suddenly declared that he was ready to bolt, as the team took a massive step back following back-to-back playoff appearances. The All-Pro wideout wanted out of the Dolphins.
Hill’s statement turned many heads, and every major sports outlet began linking him with different teams. A return to the Chiefs picked up steam, but all the chatter died down since 2025 began. On Saturday ESPN’s Marcel Louis Jacques wrote an article revealing Hill’s frustration got the better of him and blurted out leaving Miami.
The article contained excerpts from one of Hill’s recent gaming sessions.

He went from lodging consecutive 1700+ yards in 2022 and 2023 to below 1000 yards for the first time since 2019, when he won the Super Bowl with the Chiefs (he only played 12 games due to injury compared to all 17 in 2024).
Tyreek Hill wants the Dolphins to make quality additions in the new season
The Dolphins’ suffering began last year after signing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a $212 million contract, who spent the majority of the season on the concussion protocol and recovering from a hip injury. Despite signing Pro Bowler Tyler Huntley, the Dolphins only managed 8 wins, missing out on postseason football.
Hill wants the Dolphins to add quality players to get back in the playoffs again.
This may pose a big problem for General Manager Chris Grier because the Dolphins are on the verge of losing several players to free agency. ILB Tyrel Dodson, DE Emmanuel Ogbah, RB Jeff Wilson, RT Kendall Lamm, OLB Duke Riley, S Jevon Holland, WR Braxton Berrios, G Liam Eichenberg, S Jordan Poyer, and DE Calais Campbell, are set to be unrestricted free agents in the off-season.

As per Over The Cap, the Dolphins are projected to be $11.9 million over the estimated 2025 salary cap. Tagovailoa occupies most of the cap ($39.18 million), followed by linebacker Bradley Chubb ($28.66 million), who missed the entire 2024 season after tearing his ACL in December 2023.
Tyreek Hill has the third-highest cap hit with $27.698 million due to his restructured contract. Free agency is off the table at this point. Either the Dolphins stars perform better than last year or grit their teeth through 2025 and focus on the year after. However, there’s no guarantee that Hill will stick around after another bad season.
