This Monday, the Minnesota Vikings shocked everyone as they reset the wide receiver market by signing Justin Jefferson in a mammoth $140 million deal. This deal made the star wide receiver the highest-paid non-QB in the NFL, as he surpassed Tyreek Hill’s deal.
It was highly anticipated that Jefferson’s deal would make the WR market tremble since he posted $1000+ yards consecutively and established himself as one of the best wideouts in the league. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins’ WR Hill– who became the highest-paid wide receiver last year with a $120 million, contract was said to be not aging well.
However, it appears the NFL ‘Cheetah’ isn’t upset about being dethroned from the highest-paid tag by Jefferson. Much to everyone’s surprise, he called the deal “well deserved,” as he appreciated it.

With this new four-year deal, Jefferson would now make $35 million on average annually, while Hill averages $30 million. If based on annual salary, the eight-time Pro Bowler is the fourth highest paid, as the Philadelphia Eagles’ AJ Brown makes $32 million and Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown makes $30 million.
Tyreek Hill eyes lucrative contract revamp in wake of Justin Jefferson’s deal
Shortly after the news of Jefferson’s mammoth extension, agent Drew Rosenhaus hinted that the Dolphins’ star WR might be seeking his new raise. He initially set the course of the market when he signed a $120 million deal in 2022.
Let's just say it's safe to acknowledge that I've been in touch with [general manager] Chris Grier and [executive] Brandon Shore of the Dolphins--I have a fluid line of communication with them, and I've shared with them how Tyreek feels.Drew Rosenhaus told Miami’s WSVN
Rosenhaus also highlighted that Hill intends to end his NFL career in the Dolphins’ jersey and with two more years left in his contract, he may desire the franchise to tear up his old contract (which actually averages $25 million in annual salary) and replace it with a new deal, potentially surpassing Jefferson’s.
