Donald Trump-endorsed politician’s vile remark on Simone Biles resurfaces after Paris Olympics gold
Mark Robinson made the comments aimed at Simone Biles at a campaign event way back in July 2021.

In today’s edition of ‘Comments that did not age well,’ here’s a golden quote from Mark Robinson, the Lt. Governor of North Carolina who took a jibe at Simone Biles earlier this year in March. “I ain’t no little weak gymnast that quits…” The comment was a reference to the gymnast’s decision to withdraw from the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
Mark Robinson was talking about how he does not like to take any sort of breaks from going up against the competition. He decided that it would be best to showcase his fortitude and resilience by comparing himself to Simone Biles and bragging about how he continues to not give up even when the going gets tough.
His comments have resurfaced after Simone Biles led Team USA to a gold medal in the Paris Olympics. With her most recent victory, Biles established herself as the most successful gymnast in America.
My generation's cut from a different cloth, I don't quit when the going gets tough been plenty of times I've been in the car tired, dog tired, wanted to turn around and go back home, you see I'm not doing this for myself, I'm not like somebody out there flipping around on TV on some monkey bars out there trying to get a gold medal for myself. I'm doing this for a bigger cause.Mark Robinson said in a campaign way back in July 2021

It appeared as though Robinson was criticizing Biles for her choice of career.
Simone Biles did not respond to Mark Robinson’s criticism
The Donald Trump-backed Republican’s comments seemed out-of-pocket, he dug into Simone Biles for prioritizing her mental health over the prospect of earning yet another medal. He compared some of the struggles faced such as being tired after a long day and opting to not throw the towel in and rather go out there and work to that of the gymnast’s workouts.
Robinson believes that winning in the Olympics and representing the United States of America on the biggest stage in the sport of gymnastics is not a significant or worthwhile achievement. At least not in comparison to what he does, which is focused on working towards a bigger cause. To improve the lives of the masses.
The recent victory of Biles was a good response to all of her critics, the ones that counted her out and critiqued her post her 2020 decision. It is easy to think that athletes have it easier than most people, however, the amount of pressure and expectations that they bear upon their shoulders is infinitely more than the average person. If they perform well, they are expected to continue to keep that performance up in their next competition. If they fail, then there comes a barrage of negative comments and hate.
