Donald Trump gives Jorge Masvidal an unexpected shout out

Jorge Masvidal has recently started tweeting more and more about Trump’s political ideas and vendettas. He might not be an evident supporter as Colby Covington. But he has been vocal about his love for President Donald Trump. Masvidal has begun tweeting more and more about Trump including his thoughts on the Goya beans boycott. Stating his thoughts about who should take Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s spot on the Supreme Court. Masvidal even wore his Trump mask to Fight Island ahead of his most recent fight. 

President Trump recently gave a huge shout out to BMF Champion Jorge Masvidal over his most famous 5 second TKO against Ben Askren. But what was surprising, was the President of the United States giving Masvidal a shoutout about a fight that’s over a year old and three opponents old. But that’s exactly what he did during a recent appearance in which Masvidal was attending.

Not a total shocking shout out for Jorge Masvidal 

Trump referenced Masvidal’s five-second KO of Ben Askren which took place at UFC 239 in Aug. 2019. While that fight was incredible and absolutely note-worthy it seemed like an odd time and place to bring it up. Trump has been an evident enthusiast of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, firstly with president of the organisation and then with Colby Covington.

This is not the first time President Trump has been supportive of the fighters in UFC. He even called Covington at his post-match interview to congratulate him after his win against Tyron Woodley at UFC Vegas 11.
