Former US President and current Republican Party nominee for 2024 election cycle, Donald Trump is known for being a close follower of motorsports, especially NASCAR. He has attended the Daytona 500 when he at the white house and this year he was the special guest of Richard Childress for the Coca Cola 600.
Recently he was at Charllotte North Caroline, a city full of passionate racing fans, for an election rally. During his speech Donald Trump made some wild claims including replacing the US military generals with NASCAR driver or team owners. He was sharing his view on how impressive the leadership qualities of these individual’s while giving the verdict.

Trump name-dropped Billionaire NASCAR and IndyCar team owner Roger Penske as good choice. He is serial winner as a team owner with triumphs is championships and all the crown jewel races in both championships. He reckons if these Motorsports personals are capable of accomplishing this much success, then they can do the same with the military.

Trump didn’t stop there, as he went on to suggest that Football coaches can also be a great choice to replace the generals. Well NASCAR has someone who is great football coach, a Hall of Famer, and a championship winning team winner in Joe Gibbs, of JGR.
That's okay. You know, you guide same thing with coaches. You take some of the greatest football coaches, you put them at a table. What do you like coach? Because in its own way, it's not so much really different.Donald Trump said.
At the end of the day these were most probably jokes made by the former president to attract the passionate fans bases of both the sport in the state. Military and sport require widely different style of leadership and systems.
