Donald Trump ‘landslide victory’ gets Steve Kerr caught in crossfire
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr's famous DNC night-night celebration backfires as Donald Trump wins US Presidential elections.
Donald Trump winning US Presidential elections brings Steve Kerr into focus after night-night celebration backfires
Donald Trump is on the verge of winning the majority of 270 electoral votes. With him set to become the next President of the United States of America, he defeats Kamala Harris. For the likes of Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, it comes as a major loss. So is it for other NBA players who endorsed Harris on many fronts?
But the multiple title-winning head coach found himself in the crossfire now that the inevitable is clear. Firstly, he was always on the radar of supporters of Donald Trump once he finished his speech at the Democratic National Convention. Add to that, many felt his depiction of Stephen Curry‘s night-night celebration was a taunt.
Now that the Republican candidate has seemingly won the majority, Trump supporter and former NFL star Antonio Brown decided to bring Kerr’s night-night back into focus. The Super Bowl champion took to his X account to post this.
Along with this caption, he added the picture of Steve Kerr enacting the night-night celebration from his speech at the DNC. That time, Kerr wanted voters to elect Kamala Harris, so that they could show the night-night celebration to Donald Trump.

But Antonio Brown captioning that image suggests it is the Republican supporters who are now giving the night-night celebration to Kerr and other NBA players such as Stephen Curry and LeBron James, who actively supported Trump.
Brown has actively supported the soon-to-be inaugurated 47th President. Throughout the campaign period, he came under a lot of flak from other athletes who supported current President Joe Biden and then Harris. But in the end, he becomes the victor.
NBA stars and their past with Donald Trump
Donald Trump was President of the United States from 2016 to 2020. Many prominent NBA superstars and coaches were appalled by his decisions in that period. Some such as LeBron James had a back-and-forth confrontation with the billionaire.
Their face-off led to several twists and plots, bringing the NBA into the spotlight. On one hand, Republican-supporting Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham asked the superstar not to talk about politics. Rather focus on playing basketball. Ingraham had to face a lot of backlash as it seemed that they were stunting free speech.
On the other hand, longtime head coaches Gregg Popovich, Doc Rivers and Kerr were critical of Trump’s handling of sensitive issues. With the 78-year-old back in power, could his decisions ignite conversations again? If it happens, the likes of Charles Barkley and others may voice their opinions again.
