On Friday, golf great Tiger Woods was once again arrested after being involved in another car crash. U.S. President Donald Trump would react to this later on and call the golfer a “close friend” of his.
The incident regarding Woods took place around 2 p.m. near his residence in Jupiter, Florida. As per reports, the 15-time major champion was driving a luxury SUV and trying to pass a cleaner truck.
While he was able to swerve away and avoid a collision, his Land Rover would clip the truck’s trailer and flip over. The 50-year-old would later crawl out of the vehicle.
During the questioning, Woods would get a 0.00 on the alcohol breathalyzer. However, he refused to take part in urinalysis. He was later arrested and booked under the charges of Driving under the influence (DUI), property damage and refusal to submit.

Social media would go into a frenzy following this incident. While many condemned the golfer and urged the revocation of his license, some made wild jokes regarding it.
Donald Trump, who has a good relationship with Woods, would react to this. The 79-year-old expressed that he was feeling bad for him and admitted that he had some difficulty.
I feel so badly. There was an accident, and that’s all I know. A very close friend of mine, he’s an amazing person, an amazing man. But some difficulty. I don’t want to talk about it.

This development took place just a few days after Woods returned to golfing action. On Tuesday, he would play in the TGL for the first time in over a year as his team, Jupiter Links GC, was trying to stay alive in the best-of-three finals against the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC).
Woods’ return did not go as planned. The Jupiter Links GC would suffer a huge 9-2 defeat in Game 2 and lost the finals.
His participation in this event sparked talk of a potential return at the 2026 Masters Tournament. The former World No.1 has not made a start on the PGA Tour since the 2024 Open Championship.
A day before this car crash incident, Trump did make a claim regarding Woods’ return. While speaking at “The Five” on Fox News, the U.S. President expressed that Woods will not be playing in the Masters Tournament this year.

Tiger Woods was released on bail hours after arrest
Tiger Woods found himself in controversy once again on Friday. The golfer was involved in a 4th car crash and was later arrested. Several hours after this arrest, he was released on bail.

As per the Florida law, Woods needed to spend 8 hours in jail before posting bail. He was kept separate from the others as a precaution to avoid harm. The exact amount of the bail is unknown at the moment.
The golfer would exit from the side entrance of the jail. He was seen riding in the passenger seat of a car after his bail.

In 2009, Woods was involved in a single-car crash. He would crash into a fire hydrant that time.
In 2017, he was found unconscious behind the wheel of his car in Jupiter, Florida. The toxicology reports revealed the presence of five drugs in his system. He was charged with a DUI and would plead to reckless driving.
In 2021, he was involved in a major single-car crash outside of Los Angeles. He would suffer several lower-body injuries and required multiple surgeries.
The effects of that accident are still seen in Woods. The 50-year-old has struggled with fitness in the past couple of years. With this incident on Friday, he has once again become the talking point in golf.
