What do Jayden Daniels and President-elect Donald Trump have in common? They both have America’s votes in their corner. The rookie quarterback has played lights out for the Washington Commanders and the team is now headed to the playoffs. There is no longer any doubt that Daniels deserves the Rookie of the Year Award.

President-elect Donald Trump agrees. The Mayor of Washington D.C. Muriel Bowser met with the Republican leader for the first time since he won the elections. They conversed on a range of topics, one of which was the state of the new-look Commanders.

Speaking to reporters after her sit-down with Trump, Bowser refrained from addressing the topic of the Commanders possibly getting their new stadium in the RFK stadium site.

I’m not gonna talk about any specifics about RFK, It came up, like, on a very high level in conversation…He was well-aware of Jayden Daniels and why he should be the rookie of the year and possibly the MVP.

Muriel Bowser said

Donald Trump is an NFL fan and recognizes that what Jayden Daniels is doing as a rookie is truly special.

Jayden Daniels is the favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year

While Daniels’ numbers are respectable, they are not good enough to deem him a serious contender for the MVP award. He is a lock for Offensive Rookie of the Year honors with odds of -20000. At one point in the season, the race was close between him and Bo Nix, but after the Broncos’ back-to-back losses over the last two weeks, Daniels has managed to end the debate for good.

Daniels has 3,530 yards and 25 touchdowns so far. He has led the Commanders to an 11-5 record in his first year. His maturity on the field has been remarkable and he has thrived under pressure especially when the game has come down to the wire. It is not surprising to hear that Trump believes in Daniels.

The MVP race is between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson at the moment. Jayden Daniels has the seventh-best odds to win the award behind the likes of Joe Burrow, Saquon Barkley, Jared Goff, and Sam Darnold. The Commanders hope to have a new stadium ready as soon as possible. Their current contract expires in 2027 and so far the land occupied by RFK Stadium is being viewed as the best location to set up a new state-of-the-art stadium.
