UFC CEO Dana White recently announced the much-anticipated new broadcasting deal, which has completely shocked the entire MMA community. The massive new deal with Paramount is set for seven years and is worth an astonishing total of $7.7 billion. White was extremely proud of this new deal, but there are doubts among experts about the possible involvement of Donald Trump.

After the announcement was officially made, White revealed that he honestly did not expect this monumental broadcasting deal to actually come through. According to multiple reports, the deal only took a mere forty-eight hours, despite the promotion working on it for over a year.

Popular MMA reporter Ariel Helwani recently discussed the deal with famous American sports entrepreneur David Samson and openly shared his doubts.

The 30 fight nights they were talking to Paramount Plus about, but the 13 pay-per-views, they were shopping elsewhere. But then once this Skydance-Paramount merger came through, they said, ‘Hey, let’s go for the whole shebang,’ so to speak. And so you’re saying you don’t buy that, right?….You’re saying that all of this is hogwash? And why even say that, then? Why even couch it as a 48-hour thing if that’s not the truth?

Not only that, Helwani mentioned that David Ellison, Chairman and CEO of Skydance Paramount merger sat next to Dana White, Donald Trump, and UFC owner Ari Emanuel back in April for UFC 314. These all can’t just be coincidences after the UFC signed a deal with Paramount.

White and Trump’s close relationship spans more than two decades, beginning when Trump hosted UFC’s early events at his venues. Since Trump became president, White has repeatedly returned the favor, speaking at the Republican National Conventions, campaigning for him. Due to these relationships, David Samson pushed the theory of Trump’s alleged involvement.

I think to me it’s all very clear. We have already learnt that the President gets involved in all sorts of things. It would be an almost fiduciary irresponsible act for Dana to go forward and not involve the President.

Paramount’s $8 billion merger with Skydance, approved by an FCC led by Trump appointees, included a $16 million Trump lawsuit settlement. Days later, UFC finalized the seven-year deal with Paramount despite months of negotiations with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and others.

Dana White confirmed a July 4, 2026 White House UFC event, proposed by Trump, celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. All of these coincidental development suggest that more things have been kept under wraps.
