On Tuesday morning, golf great Tiger Woods shared a heartbreaking update with the world. The 49-year-old announced the passing of his mother Kultida Woods at the age of 80. President Donald Trump would lead the tributes and shared a heartfelt message to him following this massive loss.
In a social media post, Woods noted her mother as the “biggest fan” of this. As of now, details regarding her death have not been revealed.
Kultida Woods was seen at the TGL last week. Woods would wave his hand from the middle of the arena and joked that he was “not gonna suck tonight” against the Boston Common Glub.
Her passing has left the golfing world in a state of mourning. Donald Trump, who is an avid fan of the sport, led the tributes. Taking to his social media handles, the U.S. President wrote about how she was an influence on her son and how much strength and brilliance she gave to him.
Tiger Woods’ father Earl Woods passed away in 2006 at the age of 74. He would pass away after losing the battle against cancer. Following his death, his mother kept on cheering for him from the sidelines as the golfer worked his magic on the course.

Throughout the illustrious career of Tiger Woods, his mother Kultida Woods had stood by his side like a rock. So it was fitting for him to hail her during the Bob Jones Award ceremony in 2024.
The 15-time major champion was crowned the Bob Jones award winner in March of last year. This is the highest honor bestowed upon a player by the United States Golf Association (USGA).
Woods would collect his honor in June. In his award acceptance speech, the 82-time PGA Tour winner credited his success to his mother.
He later spoke about how she allowed him to chase his dreams as a young golfer and thanked her for his support while visibly getting emotional.
