Donald Trump feels fans are bearing the brunt with increased costs in NBA, NFL and other major sports leagues

Donald Trump returning to power is expected to see a lot of new policies and ideas to help the United States progress. But the soon-to-be second-time President is also an avid sports fan. Being the fan, he has kept a track about developments in the NBA, NFL and other sports leagues.

For instance, in the recent PGA Tour and LIV Golf merger discussions, the 78-year-old suggested he can solve the problem in fifteen minutes. During that discussion on the SiriusXM’s Let’s Go! podcast, hosts former NFL head coach Bill Belichick and Jim Gray asked him on other aspects regarding sports.

One of the aspects they brought up was the recent multi-billion dollar deals from NFL and NBA which have forced fans to purchase subscription packages. To this, referencing how sports bring people together, Donald Trump replied:

Middle class are being priced out, it’s not fair. The leagues are not taking care of their fans. They really aren’t. They’re making it impossible. It’s unfortunate. That’s something I would work on.

The real-estate magnate was particularly critical of the average fan for whom the entire experience of watching their favorite teams has become far too expensive. Even if they spend, he believes many do not get the excitement they crave as some teams play badly.

He also talked about how season ticket holders are being fleeced to ensure franchises are getting paid up front. As part of his agendas when he takes his seat back at the Oval Office, Trump mentioned that he will work to help bring the costs down.

Donald Trump has a unique idea to help Caitlin Clark earn more

The former President might be talking about the big leagues, such as the NBA and NFL. But in the WNBA, the prices are still reasonable. With the way Caitlin Clark is helping the league push to new heights, it will not be long, as increased fan following brings greater revenue.

That has not translated to increased earnings for the likes of Clark yet. Current President Joe Biden openly called out the league when he heard about the measly salary they pay women’s basketball players. When prompted about this, Donald Trump had a unique idea to pay the WNBA phenom.

The league could probably go up and give her a bonus, it wouldn’t kill the league. The league could do something, as it seems unfair.

The billionaire was quick to suggest that the current CBA contract is the culprit. One cannot go beyond the guidelines in the CBA to pay her. But until they draft a new contract, the WNBA could give a bonus for all the attention Caitlin Clark is bringing.
