In Short
  • Donald Trump will attend UFC 327 in Miami, marking his third appearance at UFC events in the city.
  • His relationship with UFC CEO Dana White has strengthened over the years, with Trump actively involved in upcoming events.
  • Colby Covington criticized the UFC after being excluded from the White House card, expressing frustration over his treatment by the organization.

UFC 327 stands as one of the most anticipated events of the year, with the light heavyweight title on the line in the main event. Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg will clash for the vacant belt, headlining a stacked card featuring veterans and rising prospects. The buzz has grown further after UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that US President Donald Trump will be present at the Kaseya Center for the Miami Showcase.

Trump’s association with the UFC dates back over two decades, when he hosted early events at the Trump Taj Mahal as the promotion was still growing rapidly in popularity. Over time, he built a close relationship with White and remained a visible supporter at major shows. Following his reelection as US President, Trump has continued to attend major UFC events, maintaining strong ties with the promotion.

However, the last UFC event Trump attended was in June 2025, at UFC 316, held at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. Months after that appearance, White recently joined a livestream hosted by Adin Ross, where he was accompanied by popular journalist Nina Marie Daniele. During the stream, he confirmed that the US President will be at the Kaseya Center for UFC 327, marking another major appearance.

It’s good to be back in Miami and, yeah I’m excited for this one. Big guy (Trump) is coming on Saturday, too.

Trump has attended UFC events in Miami twice in the past, building a consistent presence. His first notable visit came at UFC 287 in 2023, where Alex Pereira faced Israel Adesanya in their rematch. Most recently, he attended UFC 314 in April, where Alexander Volkanovski defeated Diego Lopes to reclaim the featherweight title. With UFC 327 set for the Kaseya Center, it will mark his third Miami appearance.

UFC 327 is not the only event the US President is expected to attend this year, with a historic card planned for the South Lawn of the White House. Trump is closely involved alongside White in overseeing preparations, highlighting a unique collaboration. The planned UFC Freedom Fights 250 card has drawn contrasting views, as Trump described the lineup as good and up to the mark despite wider concerns.

Donald Trump’s visibility at UFC events is further amplified by his connection with UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria, who is set to headline the historic UFC Freedom Fights 250 at the White House. Topuria recently sent a message urging the President to expect a quick finish in the main event. Given the global attention on major sporting and political figures, Donald Trump’s presence further increases his visibility.

Donald Trump’s favorite fighter goes on a heated rant aimed at the UFC

Colby Covington has maintained a public association with Donald Trump that has shaped his fighting persona and political visibility. The former UFC interim welterweight champion has been an outspoken supporter of Trump and the Republican Party. After winning the interim title, he visited the White House in 2018 and presented Trump with his belt, a moment that highlighted their connection.

In recent times, Covington’s relationship with the UFC has become strained, as he has publicly criticized the organization’s management. His frustrations grew after UFC CEO Dana White questioned his place in the welterweight top 15 rankings. He also called out UFC CBO Hunter Campbell, accusing him of unfair treatment. These tensions came to a head after he was left off the UFC Freedom Fights 250 card.

I said that I would fight anybody on gods green earth on the White House card, just to get that opportunity to fight in front of my hero, Donald Trump, and all the great politicians that I am friends with. They are upsetting their hardcore fanbase. It’s completely the opposite of what they promised the fans. I have been sitting idle for fourteen months without a fight, they are supposed to be offering me three fights a year by contractual law.

However, despite being snubbed from UFC fights, Covington has remained active under the RAF banner. He defeated former UFC champion Luke Rockhold at RAF 05 and most recently earned a victory over Dillon Danis at RAF 07. Covington is now set to face UFC veteran Chris Weidman at RAF 09 on May 30th. His continued success outside the UFC demonstrates his resilience and ability to maintain relevance
