Donovan Mitchell’s 21 helps Utah Jazz rally past Boston Celtics 117-109

Although the Eastern Conference giants Boston Celtics hung on late to keep the match very close against the Jazz. But having not being able to capitalize on key moments is what led them to lose a vital game against the NBA Leaders, Utah Jazz. Celtics let go of their steam late in the game to be outscored by the Jazz 40-30 in the last quarter.
Talking about the Boston Celtics’ players, Jayson Tatum led the team with game0high 29 points. Jaylen Brown too continued to impress as he knocked down 28 points. While Kemba Walker and Theis scored 16 and 15 points respectively for the home team.

Donovan Mitchell struck 8 of his 21 points in the last quarter. While Jordan Clarkson and Mike Conley added 20 and 17 points respectively for the Utah Jazz. Two-Time Defensive Player of the Year, Rudy Gobert finished the game with a double-double having scored 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Trailing 104-101, the Celtics had two chances to tie the game late. The first was thwarted by an offensive foul on Robert Williams. Following a Utah foul on its next possession, Marcus Smart came up short on a 3-point attempt that was corralled by the Jazz. Donovan Mitchell then hit a 3 on Utah’s next trip to make it 107-101.
Utah Jazz’s lead was 109-101 when Tatum was fouled by Gobert on a layup. But he failed to complete the three-point play and Boston was forced to foul.
Having said that, Boston was mostly able to neutralize Gobert in the first half, holding him to just four points. But he found some openings in the final 24 minutes, including cutting to take a bounce pass from Clarkson and dunking over Daniel Theis as part of Utah’s initial fourth-quarter surge.
