In an interview with The Jump, Pippen joked that he didn’t have clutch genes because of his teammate Michael Jordan. He claimed, “I’m not afraid to say that I don’t have clutch genes. I played with a guy that took all the clutch genes out of me [laughs],”
“[But] Listen, you know what, it was a relationship that me and Michael had. A relationship where I knew where I wanted the ball at the end of the game, I knew who wanted the ball at the end of the game.” He further added.
Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan won six NBA titles together, including two three-peats, with Michael Jordan winning NBA Finals MVP each time, proving Pippen’s claim about how clutch Michael Jordan was.
Their relationship, however, deteriorated following the release of the 2020 ESPN documentary The Last Dance. Scottie Pippen claimed in his book: “Michael Jordan deserved a large portion of the blame. The producers had granted him editorial control of the final product. The doc couldn’t have been released otherwise. He was the leading man and the director.”

After months of rumors and glimpses of Michael Jordan’s eldest son Marcus Jordan on her Instagram story, Larsa Pippen has confirmed their relationship. She hasn’t previously posted anything about Marcus Jordan.
The 48-year-old ex-wife of Chicago Bulls icon Scottie Pippen shared an Instagram post of herself and Jordan standing together with the caption “Checks over stripes,” which some fans interpret as an oblique shot at Scottie Pippen. In the photo, Larsa Pippen was in a sheer black bodysuit, short cut-off jeans, and sneakers. Marcus wore red, white, and black pants and a black shirt.
Fans feel this was an indirect dig at Scottie Pippen, with the caption checks over stripes. checks representing Nike, Michael Jordan’s partner, and sponsor since the beginning of his career, and stripes indicating Adidas, Nike’s biggest competition.
Scottie and Larsa Pippen shared 21 years of their lives together. They had four children together: Justin, 17, Scotty Jr, 22, Preston, 20, and Sophia, 14 years old. They divorced in 2018, bringing an end to their long relationship.
