Dan Campbell has turned the fate of the Detroit Lions around during his tenure as the team’s head coach earning himself the respect and admiration of the entire fanbase. However, a few bad apples exist that cause chaos and overstep boundaries. In this case, the bad apples were the classmates of Campbell’s daughter. They leaked his address on social media which jeopardized his family’s safety.
After the report of Dan Campbell being doxxed by his daughter’s classmate broke, it compelled the head coach to change residences. The classmate leaked his address on Snapchat as a ‘joke’ after the Lions lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game. Campbell’s address was posted alongside a message, “Dumb f*** trying to go for it,” on the classmate’s Snapchat.
To make things worse, he drove to Dan Campbell’s house shortly after, along with his friends, parked on the street, and was “yelling not nice things toward the house,” as per the report. The head coach and his wife Holly were in San Francisco when this happened. Their daughter was still at their residence but luckily her boyfriend was with her at the time multiple people began to show up outside the house.
No legal action has been initiated against the classmate of Dan Campbell’s daughter
After the address was leaked, there have been four documented instances of harassment and unwanted visitors on the property. This compelled the Campbells to instruct their daughter to leave the residence along with her boyfriend for their safety for a few days.
The police patrolled the residence for the next few days. In retrospect, his absence from the team’s rookie minicamp citing personal reasons could have possibly been to relocate.
The classmate in question was identified the next day and questioned by investigators. However, the police after investigating the matter concluded that the incident did not meet the standard to file criminal charges against the classmate.
The primary reason for the head coach to shift residences was his wife’s concern that they risk putting themselves in harm when Campbell is on the road. “Holly’s only concern is that their address is out there now, and she fears next season people will know when her husband is out of town and try to take advantage of that,” the investigator wrote in the report justifying the reason behind the Lions HC selling his 7,800 sq ft Cape Cod-style mansion in Oakland County.

The head coach has kept the details of his new residence under wraps. He admitted to liking the previous residence but was compelled to move. Despite this incident, Dan Campbell is not holding the Lions fanbase responsible for it. He intends to love them and reaffirmed the same last Friday during his press conference.
Fortunately, no harm was caused to Campbell or members of his family despite their address leaking, and their safety is what matters most.
