Entering their first Super Bowl since the Tom Brady–Bill Belichick era, there was a belief among New England Patriots fans that Mike Vrabel would coach Drake Maye and his teammates to lift another Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Many had tried to dismiss them as beneficiaries of the easiest schedule this season. Then there was Bo Nix‘s injury, which made it look like the Patriots were effectively handed the biggest game of the season on a platter.
Sure, they did play lights out against CJ Stroud‘s Houston Texans. But despite that, the odds were against the Massachusetts team, as the Seattle Seahawks were flying on both sides of the ball.
Amidst all of this, analysts and fans alike noticed that Mike Vrabel‘s motivational methods and leadership were one of the prime reasons for their run to Super Bowl LX.
He even bought into the ‘Warriors, come out and play‘ chant his team had embraced, which was them effectively calling out every favored team as they continued to defeat them. That run, though, stopped at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco.
He was the heartbeat… I look forward to my relationship with him for a long time. He’s a great person and a hell of a football coach.

There are so many people that care about you and love you for more than just playing on the football field.

The regular-season MVP finalist was not dismissing the loss. Rather, he was talking about how he and his teammates let down everyone from his head coach to the rest of the Patriots’ organization to their family members.

The 23-year-old has long been heralded as someone who is much more mature and humble than his age. This was the North Carolina native detailing how tough this loss will be on not just himself and his teammates, but everyone who is associated with them.
This was his concluding statement at the Super Bowl LX press conference. While speaking about this, Drake Maye did reiterate that he and his teammates have to be patient, as this loss could just be the start of something good.
Drake Maye keeps it real about Super Bowl LX loss
Even though the odds were heavily against the New England Patriots, many still believed that Drake Maye and his offense would perform decently in Super Bowl LX.
That belief looked like it was fading as they stood scoreless with a little more than 13 minutes left in the fourth quarter, and was shattered into pieces when the quarterback threw back-to-back interceptions later.
It’s been a long ride. They played better than us tonight.

The UNC alum went on to talk about how his offense struggled to move the ball and how his throws were not up to the mark. He was self-critical, admitting that he needed to do better.

This loss will bear heavily on him, as if not for those turnovers, maybe his team had a chance to come back and at least put up a fight against the Seahawks.
