Drake Maye’s rise since replacing Jacoby Brissett as the New England Patriots quarterback has been phenomenal. Despite the Patriots languishing at the bottom with just 3 wins all season, head coaches can’t stop praising the rookie shot-caller.
The latest to praise Maye is Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, whose team will play against the Patriots in week twelve. From McDaniel’s point of view, the 22-year-old can make plays in a “multitude of ways” and derives confidence from his teammates and the fans.
McDaniel claimed a rookie quarterback adapting to the NFL isn’t very easy. Most players struggle to cope with the faster and more physical environment. Maye, on the other hand, knows what he’s doing.

The Patriots’ season may be over in terms of a playoff push, but they were never set up for it. They are currently going through a rebuilding process that will take some time to bear fruit. The positive side of the season has to be Maye, but they need to keep improving the team around him by adding quality pieces.
Drake Maye impressed the Rams’ head coach previously
In week eleven, the Patriots lost against the Los Angeles Rams but came very close to stealing a win (28-22). Maye ended the game with 30 completions from 40 tries for 282 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception. He also ran the ball three times for 27 yards.
This was his fourth 200+ passing yards and game (three times crossed 250+). After the game, Rams head coach Sean McVay claimed Maye felt like a special player.
