The Toronto Blue Jays are on the cusp of a World Series championship. On Wednesday, the Canadian outfit took down the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-1 in Game 5 and took a 3-2 series lead. After their win, renowned music artist Drake took a shot at Shohei Ohtani.

The Blue Jays entered the field following a 6-2 win in Game 4. After suffering a crushing defeat in Game through a walk-off home run from Freddie Freeman in the 18th inning, the visitors shook off that disappointment with a clinical performance on Tuesday.

They continued their momentum from this win and had the most perfect start to the game. Davis Schneider would hit a home run on the very first pitch of the game, thrown by Blake Snell, and started the ballgame with a leadoff home run.

2 pitches later, the Blue Jays had a 2-0 lead. After Schneider, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. took Snell deep and continued his hot streak. His 8th home run of the 2025 postseason put the Blue Jays on top early on.

Despite a solo home run from Enrique Hernandez, which made it a 2-1 game, the Dodgers were once again unable to restrict the Blue Jays’ offense. The American League Champions added 4 more runs and ran out as comfortable 6-1 winners from Game 5.

With the Blue Jays just one win away from glory, Drake went on to troll Ohtani and the Dodgers. The 39-year-old, who is a fan of the Blue Jays, would take to his Instagram account and post two stories regarding the two-way star.

The first one featured the 3-time MLB MVP from one of his photo shoots. He would drop a 2-word reaction to this story and wrote, “One more!!!!!!!

The second story featured a snippet of Ohtani striking out against Trey Yesavage. The 22-year-old pitcher dominated the Dodgers from the mound and picked up 12 strikeouts, the most by a rookie pitcher in a World Series game.

The second image featured Ohtani down on his knee as he struck out swinging while chasing the pitch. His helmet would fall off in the dirt. Drake would troll the Dodgers star for this and wrote, “Savage already otw to the dugout boss lol.”

The Japanese international was unable to make a huge impact in this game as he went 0-for-4. The Dodgers were able to pick up just 4 hits through 9 innings as their offense struggled again.

Skip Bayless claims Dodgers have lost World Series against the Blue Jays

The Los Angeles Dodgers were blown away 6-1 by the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday, putting them on the brink of a World Series loss. Following the game, analyst Skip Bayless boldly claimed that the National League have lost the Fall Classic against the Blue Jays.

The Dodgers were considered heavy favorites against the Blue Jays following their dominating National League Championship Series (NLCS) win against the Milwaukee Brewers. They would sweep them 4-0 to reach their 2nd successive World Series.

Meanwhile, the Blue Jays had to dig deep. A topsy-turvy American League Championship Series (ALCS) saw them topple the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 to reach their first World Series since 1993.

After winning Game 1, the Blue Jays suffered back-to-back defeats. Game 3 loss was a huge one, as they lost that game after 18 innings. Many believed that the Dodgers would cruise towards victory following that win.

However, the Blue Jays proved everyone wrong. Two dominating performances in Games 4 and 5 turned the series in their favor. After their win on Wednesday, Bayless expressed on X that the Dodgers just lost the World Series to them.

I’m afraid the massively favored Los Angeles Dodgers just lost the World Series to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Technically, the Dodgers are still alive. However, they do not have any room for error now. A win in Game 6 will force Game 7. The last World Series Game 7 was played in 2019, when the Washington Nationals came back from 3-2 down after 5 games to win the World Series against the Houston Astros.
