Head coach, Steve Kerr gives injury update on Draymond Green and Stephen Curry

In Saturday’s game the Golden State Warriors pulled off a 122-114 upset versus the Washington Wizards, but at a hefty price. In their collective effort to stand their ground at home, the Warriors lost two of its key pillars: Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

The veteran power forward, Draymond Green, made his return to the lineup after missing three consecutive games due to illness and a back injury. Unfortunately, he now has another ailment to manage. Around the 9-minute mark in the first quarter, Green limped back to the locker room and was subsequently ruled out due to a left calf strain.

Meanwhile, Curry suffered a setback late in the game. During the final minutes, Curry rolled his ankle after getting tangled up with his former teammate, Jordan Poole. Briefing on the subject, here’s the update provided by the head coach Steve Kerr on his superstars’ health status.

Draymond’s gonna get an MRI tomorrow and Steph just told me he doesn’t think it’s serious…… Just kind of assess them the next couple of days and then we will figure out what’s next.” Steve Kerr on Green’s injury update

After sustaining the ankle twist, the “Baby-Faced Assassin” gave a thumbs-up to the Warriors bench and Dubs Nation, reassuring them about the severity of the damage. Although he is currently listed as questionable, there is growing expectation among his fanbase that he will suit up for the matchup against the defending champs, Boston Celtics, especially since his recent remarks, “Feels great. See you on Monday.”

In this duel between former teammates, Steph scored 26 points on 10-of-22 shooting from the field and 4-of-14 from beyond the arc. He also grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 6 feeds to his teammates and added a steal and a block to his hustle stats.

Draymond Green seeks forgiveness from his former teammate Jordan Poole.

Green is receiving a lot of hatred from Dubs Nation itself, apparently for single-handedly disbanding the Warriors dynasty. After an alleged altercation between Jordan Poole and Draymond Green during practice back in 2022, Green knocked out his teammate with a wild swing to the temple.

After today’s game, Jordan Poole spoke very fondly of his former teammates to the media. One of his remarks in particular drew a surprising public apology from Draymond Green. After the former stated that he loves his former colleague, well “most” of them, it drew an honest reaction from the veteran, who took to social media to ask for pardon. Green has also voiced his regret before in regard to Jordan Poole

Following the Warriors’ 2021-2022 championship, in which Poole played an integral role, he took the earliest exit from the franchise due to his feud with number 23. Next thing you know, Klay Thompson has requested to be traded, and the whole Warriors squad started to come apart.

Next, Dub Nation will host the reigning, defending champions, Boston Celtics, on Monday. With two of its best players listed as questionable due to injury, expect the 21-20 Warriors to add one more defeat to its loss column.
