Draymond Green and Stephen Curry refuse to let Warriors act like other ‘bad organizations’ in NBA
After securing a win versus the Pistons, Draymond Green spoke on importance of not following the practices of "bad teams".
Draymond Green takes slights at "bad organization"
Following Thursday night’s close 107-104 victory by the Warriors over the Pistons, Draymond Green sat down with the media to answer questions about their long-standing woes this season. The Warriors kicked off the year with a roaring 12-3 record, but have since been sputtering out of fuel. They’ve since slipped from the no. 1 seed to 12th rank in the West, with a 19-20 record.
The veteran power forward discussed the Warriors’ ongoing battles in an exclusive interview with Vincent Goodwill. Green spoke about how the Warriors have abstained from making any hasty moves or trades, prioritizing the franchise’s long-term future.
The 4-time champion reiterated the importance of making prudent moves instead of jumping to judgments. Currently playing his 13th season, Green also observed that he couldn’t recall “a single person” to have won the NBA title every year.
The former DPOY also admitted that he needs to regain his edge and help the team find its groove. Though aged 35 now, Green is still averaging 8.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game. His defensive presence these days, however, is an abyss away from his former heights.
Draymond Green foresaw Jimmy Butler and Pat Riley’s rift
Green weighed in on the Miami Heat-Jimmy Butler drama as the trade deadline approaches on his latest podcast episode. Right now, Jimmy Butler is serving a 7-game suspension as the relationship between him and Pat Riley grows sourer. Green believes that it wouldn’t be a surprise if Pat Riley deliberately delays Butler’s trade deal.

The Miami Heat could certainly be a plausible example of these “bad organizations” Green was referring to.
For now, the Miami Heat is on a downswing after riding an upward trajectory since the addition of Jimmy Buckets. They are currently sitting in 7th place in the East with a 20-18 record. After losing to Clippers today, the Heat are scheduled to go up against the Lakers next on Wednesday.
