Draymond Green speaks his mind, especially when he has a strong opinion about something. Since that happens quite often, some tend to believe the forward tries to deflect blame.
After their blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Golden State Warriors’ star called out some of his teammates for not showing the fight and the commitment necessary to win games.
He believed those unnamed players were busy with their own agendas, and that was affecting the team as it stumbled into 5 losses in 7 games, especially after opening the season in style.
His words were then echoed by Jimmy Butler, who felt that those particular players had to look at themselves and figure out what was important.
Since they did not name anyone, the internet was busy trying to figure out who the two veterans were talking about. Most believed Green and Butler were pointing their fingers at younger stars Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski.
Some even brought up the latter’s claim before the season that he wanted to be a leader and a better player than Stephen Curry. A reporter, Kevin O’Connor, latched onto these tweets and claimed that the likes of Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler were ‘side-eyeing’ their younger teammates.
And I’m certain I know far more about winning than you do. You couldn’t win your intramural sports and thought it was a good idea to become an “NBA Writer”… and if you want to do some in-depth analysis and game breakdown, I will also put you to shame at that…

Naturally, the former Defensive Player of the Year was going to respond, and he did by lambasting the reporter over his unsubstantiated claims.
Draymond Green clarifies who his initial rant was about
Draymond Green seemed incensed by the baseless accusations being leveled by a reporter who he felt did not even have enough experience or knowledge to opine about an NBA team.

Who said it was the young guys, Kevin? I said WE!! One thing for certain, I don’t mince words, and you don’t have to speak for me. That’s what the Draymond Green show is for. I SPEAK FOR ME! ALWAYS!

This was the 4-time champions’ follow-up reply to Kevin O’Connor, clarifying that he was not criticizing any one or two teammates. Rather, he was talking about everyone on the Warriors, including him.
Green also reiterated that the reporter need not fill in the blanks for him, as he speaks whatever he wants to without filters, be it to the NBA media or on his podcast.
Draymond Green continues his attack on the reporter
The last line of his 1st reply to Kevin O’Connor indicated that Draymond Green was going to ‘shame’ him on any basketball analysis that he does. The Warriors’ star stayed true to his promise and then wrote this.
You have all the answers, genius… And you want more views… here’s your help! Would you like to do a film breakdown? Maybe your basketball knowledge has grown over the last 4 years… The number 1 pick? Wow, you stink at this!

The 35-year-old star essentially obliterated O’Connor for trying to claim back in 2020 that Killian Hayes would be the best bet to be the No. 1 overall pick in that year’s draft.

The French-American point guard was eventually selected No. 7 overall. However, he could not make a mark on the rebuilding Detroit Pistons of those years.
This year, he was signed and waived by the Brooklyn Nets, and currently is on the Cavaliers’ G-League outfit. Green was pointing at this lack of knowledge as a way to troll O’Connor.
