Draymond Green clowned for setting ‘championship pressure’ on Stephen Curry
Kendrick Perkins did not hold back against Draymond Green and his Warriors side on the recent segment of the First Take Show.

Draymond Green and Kendrick Perkins
Due to San Francisco hosting the All-Star Game, Draymond Green had a very frenzied weekend. Notably. Green spoke about a lot of topics over the weekend. He expressed his thoughts on the Rising Stars playing in the All-Star Game. Not only that, he went to the extent of claiming that his side, the Golden State Warriors will win the ‘championship.’
However, this did not go down well with former NBA player Kendrick Perkins. That kind of audacious statement was bound to cause certain responses, and it did. After this announcement, Perkins discussed the Warriors and their ceiling on First Take. He began by thanking GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. and owner Joe Lacob for securing Jimmy Butler‘s inclusion. After that, he immediately announced the Dubs’ ceiling.
“The ceiling for this Golden State Warriors team this season is the first round…They’re not beating the Nuggets. They’re not beating OKC. They’re not beating the Celtics, the Cavs, the Knicks. And they’re not beating the healthy Mavericks team.”

The Warriors have improved under Butler, but it would be difficult to defeat elite teams like the Nuggets and Thunder. Although one won’t go so far as to completely rule them out against the clubs listed, the likelihood would be slim. But Perkins believes that they would not stand against any of these sides in the NBA.
This is not the first time Perkins has blasted Green for his wild takes. He also lashed out at Green for his criticism regarding the Rising Stars team at the All-Star event. All said and done, it will be interesting to watch whether or not the Warriors respond to Perkins’ ‘ceiling’ set for them.
Draymond Green has his say on how NBA basketball has evolved
In a brief speech on Saturday morning, Draymond Green discussed the current condition of the game. Notably, on how he thinks it’s officiated differently now than it used to be. Also, how stars no longer enjoy the benefits of their fame as they once did. In addition, he also termed the NBA as ‘boring’ during the press conference.
When questioned about the NBA being ‘boring’
Absolutely…Its just who can run faster, who can hit more 3s, its no substance. I think its very boring.

Aside from this, Green’s teammate and Warrior superstar Stephen Curry also made his thoughts known on Green’s championship claims. Curry stated that ‘Green knows what he’s doing’ and that they love the pressure. However, with Green calling the NBA ‘boring,’ all ayes will now drift onto his side going forward into the season to win the ‘boring’ 2025 NBA title.
