As an undersized forward, Draymond Green has been known to use his grit, his high IQ, as well as his tenacity to become one of the focal members of the Golden State Warriors. Over the 13 seasons he has been with the team, he has won a Defensive Player of the Year award, 4 All-Star selections, 2 All-NBA selections, and 4 championships.

At age 35, he still wants to compete for another championship or two, and has openly declared his team’s desire to do so. To achieve that goal, the Warriors will need his defensive tenacity, playmaking, and most importantly, his ability to antagonize their opponents.

The Michigan native is known for his antics on the court. Be it arguing with officials or trying to trash-talk opponents, the forward is capable of bringing some heat into the game.

He usually does not care who he is talking to, be it a former teammate, a friend, or even a rookie, Green does not spare anyone. His latest victim happens to be Los Angeles Lakers sophomore Dalton Knecht.

When the Lakers and Warriors clashed for the second of their preseason games, Draymond Green was standing next to the Lakers forward as Deandre Ayton shot his free throws.

Go talk to somebody else, don’t talk to me. Don’t talk s**t to me, you got traded and got traded back.

Draymond Green told Dalton Knecht

It seems he was ticked off when Knecht tried to talk trash with him, and then lost his cool, ending up using the botched trade between the Lakers and the Charlotte Hornets to get back at the Lakers’ star. This conversation between them has gone viral.

Draymond Green hilariously complains to officials about Lakers’ free throws

It seems Dalton Knecht’s attempts to trash-talk Draymond Green had the desired effect. Once the Warriors star gets agitated about something, he tends to talk at every opportunity.

A few minutes later, offseason acquisition Jake LaRavia drove to the rim and received a foul call. As he was about to get ready to shoot his free throws, the Warriors star said this to the officials:

You aren’t calling that foul. We’ve been busting all night, we ain’t got a free throw yet. 19 free throws to 0, and LeBron James and Luka is on the bench, incredible.

Draymond Green said to officials

He was trying to convey that it was unfair of the officials to hand the Los Angeles Lakers that many free throws when his Golden State Warriors were not getting similar attempts.

Green also suggested that it was even more unfair since Lakers superstars LeBron James and Luka Doncic, the primary foul baiters on that team, were not playing, hinting at possible bias.

Draymond Green and Warriors gunning for 5th title

Last season, when the Golden State Warriors traded for Jimmy Butler, the goal was to contend for their 5th title in a little more than a decade. However, they could not achieve that goal after Stephen Curry‘s injury proved to be too much of a hurdle.

Curry mentioned last season that the team needs a full season to build their chemistry, and learn their nuances. They have that chance this time around, as the entire roster will have time to work with each other.

On top of that, they signed veteran center Al Horford. The team has to figure out how to best use his experience, floor stretching ability, and defensive versatility.

Once they do, it would not be a surprise if this veteran team makes a run for the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Curry, Draymond Green, and the rest want to get that one more chip before they walk away from the game.
