Draymond Green is known for using his tenacity to gain an advantage against opponents. That method has helped the Golden State Warriors win four NBA titles in the past decade.

That is why he is not going to stop doing that, even though the events of the past 2 years have forced him to keep his antics under control.

For instance, one fan taunted the 6′ 6″ forward by calling him ‘Angel Reese‘, after Green missed a few of his opening layups and then proceeded to grab his own rebounds.

The Warriors star confronted the fan, and then had to be separated by officials and teammates. Seeing this, former NBA star Kenyon Martin said on Gil’s Arena that Draymond Green picks and chooses when to fight.

He believes his fellow Saginaw, Michigan, native does not go all out, especially if he knows he would be on the losing end. Green watched that episode where Martin essentially labeled him as a ‘fake tough guy’, and decided to address the matter.

You would think someone that was the No. 1 pick that didn’t quite have the career I’ve had when you talk Defensive Player of the Year, or nine All-Defensive teams that I have. And he has zero? One All-Star? I just don’t know how you can continue to shoot at me when you underachieved.

Draymond Green said on his podcast

The 4-time champion claimed that even if he were to stop playing now, he would still have had a much better career than Martin. Those stats discredit the latter from being able to make such comments, as the 47-year-old has nothing to show for his supposed toughness.

Fans side with Draymond Green over Kenyon Martin

When fans saw this clip, some of them disagreed with Draymond Green, suggesting he does not have the toughness that Kenyon Martin did. On the other hand, most were in favor.

They believe that for all the talk of toughness, the former No. 1 overall pick had essentially a mediocre career. For that person to belittle someone who rose from being a 2nd round pick to become one of the best defenders to play the game does not make sense.

They believe this proves that many former underachieving players should not be speaking on podcasts, especially when they are criticizing those who have done well. Check out examples of those reactions below.

Draymond Green wondered why Martin, who comes from the same city, would undermine someone else who has made a name for himself. Instead of being happy, he felt the former New Jersey Nets star was being petty.

Draymond Green continues his barrage against Kenyon Martin, and drags LeBron James hater Rashad McCants into it

After talking about Kenyon Martin’s comments about himself, Draymond Green switched to another topic that has been a constant at Gil’s Arena, which also involves certified LeBron James hater Rashad McCants.

One thing I wanna share with Kenyon Martin and Rashad McCants, a couple of guys who try to attack Nick Young about his NBA championship. I know you guys don’t understand what it means to win an NBA championship, and because of that, you attack Nick Young because y’all don’t know what it takes.

Draymond Green said

The former Defensive Player of the Year pointed out how role players are often tasked with helping swing certain playoff games, which Nick Young did during their 2018 championship run.

He then pointed out how Martin, despite supposedly being the best player on the New Jersey Nets, could not help swing his team into winning a title.

Green believes McCants does not even have a viable argument because he has not been a part of anything successful. Therefore, he hopes the petty duo stops throwing barbs at Nick Young, as the latter did his part to earn a ring.
