Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Draymond Green

NBA stars Draymond Green and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope have been attracting a lot of interest from the NBA community after their recent comments regarding the 2020 NBA bubble and the Los Angeles Clippers. Notably, Caldwell-Pope provided a detailed story regarding the Clippers, claiming how close they were to quitting on the Draymond Green Show.

Caldwell-Pope claimed on the show that he was amused by the Clippers’ players as they were 3-1 up in the series against the Denver Nuggets and still were contemplating leaving the bubble. Green then added his take, claiming that they “left a championship” on the table. However, the Clippers ended up bottling a 3-1 lead as they went on to lose the next 3 matches against the Nuggets.

How in the hell you up 3-1, even if you talked about leaving, you up 3-1. Finish the job and go and lose in the next round!

If you ask me, they left a championship sitting at the table...

Caldwell-Pope then went on to finish his claim.

I've heard it that, yeah, it did come from the Clippers. I don't know who said it but those boys were ready to go. First team ready to go.

Interestingly, LeBron James and Anthony Davis‘ legendary play helped the Los Angeles Lakers capture the 2020 NBA title. However, the Clippers were seen as one of the early favorites to win the championship before the NBA had to decide to take a break. The Clippers fans will never forget how their side ended up bottling a 3-1 lead to this date.

Draymond Green criticized the LA Clippers during 2024 NBA Free Agency

Former Los Angeles Clippers player, Paul George joined the Philadelphia 76ers where he agreed to a four-year, $212 maximum contract with the Philadelphia 76ers, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. However, this did not go down well with the Golden State Warriors star player, Draymond Green as he called out the Clippers for not negotiating with the Warriors to sign George during the 2024 NBA Free Agency.

Also a little salty about that because, as you all know, Paul George was going to come to the Warriors, and we wanted Paul George to come to the Warriors..the Clippers didn't really want to play ball, didn't really want to help him get to where he wanted to go.

In addition, the Warriors and Clippers’ sign-and-trade negotiations came to a standstill after Golden State declined to include Jonathan Kuminga in a trade package, according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. This was one of the reasons, the Clippers refused to negotiate with the Warriors which hurt Green. However, after a poor 2023-24 NBA season, it remains to be seen how George performs with the 76ers in the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.
