Draymond Green mocked the Bucks for trading Jrue Holiday

Draymond Green is one of those players in the NBA who never shies away from giving his honest opinions. He will troll his opponents for poor performances and bad decisions anytime. Hence, the four-time champion did not hesitate to join Joel Embiid in calling out the Milwaukee Bucks for trading Jrue Holiday.

The Boston Celtics are on the verge of winning the NBA championship, as they are 3-0 in the finals. After their third consecutive win, Embiid took to his X account to question whether the Bucks deserve blame for the Celtics’ potential title win. Draymond Green on his podcast agreed with Embiid as he mocked the Bucks’ decision of trading Jrue Holiday. 

The answer to Joel's question is yes. They actually did. Because they traded Jrue away and I just think that even in that trade you gotta find and do all you can to keep Jrue.

The Bucks trading Holiday for Damian Lillard created a lot of controversy at the time. Green also stated that there is ‘no fit mismatch’ with Holiday and Lillard. According to Green, Holiday can guard bigger and perform on both ends of the floor, so the organization should have done more to keep him.

Green is not wrong, as Holiday is playing a key role for the Celtics while the Bucks ended their season in the first round. The guard is a defensive powerhouse for Boston, performing offensively when the team needs it. Holiday scored a double-double in Game 2 of the finals during Jayson Tatum‘s poor shooting night. It is safe to say that Milwaukee will regret their decision if Holiday wins the championship.

Elite defense has, unfortunately, become a rare factor in today’s NBA. Hence, the veterans are in awe of Holiday’s skills at protecting the rim during this postseason. Despite the Celtics having many offensive stars, Hall of Famer Charles Barkley did not forget to acknowledge Holiday after the Celtics’ 3-0 success.

As Tatum was on NBA TV after the third win, Barkley praised Holiday. According to Chuck, it was a ‘privilege’ to witness Holiday’s defense, as he stated that the star makes the biggest difference for the Celtics this year. Tatum could not agree more as he also questioned the Bucks’ decision.

Tatum has previously also called Holiday a champion while talking about his winning plays in the Eastern Conference finals. As Holiday was a part of the Bucks’ championship season, the star is now one step away from helping Tatum and the team win their first championship ring.
