Draymond Green, along with Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, is focused on this season as they look towards fighting for the NBA championship.

The first two have been there, done that. When the latter joined, they started to believe they had a chance to do it again. Butler brings defensive tenacity and scoring, which helps take the burden off Curry.

However, they are all 35 or older and need the help of their younger players to achieve that goal. At the start of the season, that mix seemed to have been working very well when the Golden State Warriors finished October with a sizzling 4-2 record.

Then, in November, they have played 6 games, out of which they have lost four. Losses to the lowly Indiana Pacers and struggling Sacramento Kings were initially seen as bad days in the office.

Then a 25-point loss to the Denver Nuggets came about when Stephen Curry was out sick. However, their latest 24-point loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder has posed a lot of questions about the state of the team.

I think everyone has a personal agenda in this league, but you have to make the personal agenda work in the team confines. And if it doesn’t work, then you kinda gotta get rid of your agenda, or eventually the agenda is the cause of someone getting rid of you.

Draymond Green told Anthony Slater

The former Defensive Player of the Year pointed out that the team’s agenda after Jimmy Butler’s trade was to win. Right now, he is not sure that the team has the same agenda.

Jimmy Butler echoes Draymond Green’s concerns about commitment

Draymond Green did not name anyone. However, his comments suggested that someone or some players are not on the same page with the leaders. When reporters asked Jimmy Butler about his teammate’s comments, he said this:

I think he is partly correct. We’ve just got to get back to doing whatever it takes to win. Everybody has to sacrifice something… The fight’s not always there… Everybody has to be honest with themselves.

Jimmy Butler replied

Again, this comment is directed at some player(s) who Butler believes need to understand what is needed for the team to win. They were just defeated by a Thunder team who are as united as they come.

They won the 2025 NBA title on the back of their chemistry. The Warriors’ 2-4 stretch this month is a testament to how the lack of chemistry can affect the team.

To make a run for the championship, the team needs to be on the same page. Butler highlighted how the remaining 5 games of their current road trip will show what the roster is made of.

Steve Kerr believes something is not ‘clicking’

In this loss, the Oklahoma City Thunder were up by 30 points in the 3rd quarter. Seeing his team struggle, head coach Steve Kerr pulled his starters. It seems today’s performance was a continuation of their concerns.

I can feel we weren’t in a great place coming back from Indiana and Milwaukee. You can just feel that things weren’t quite clicking. I thought that continued. We are not playing well since the 2nd week of the season. Doesn’t feel right, what’s happening right now.

Steve Kerr told reporters

The head coach believes these problems started to surface after their consecutive losses to the Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers at the turn of the month.

He knows something is wrong, but also believes that it is up to him and the players to figure it out. Unless they do, this 6-game road trip could end up becoming a nightmare.
