Golden State Warriors star defender, Draymond Green has been making the headlines lately for his recent comments regarding his current side on the Club 520 Podcast. Notably, Green revealed that he saved the Warriors blushes by stopping an important trade that would have hampered the franchise’s plans in the future.

On the most recent episode of his “Club 520 Podcast,” the Warriors star discussed his recommendation to Golden State not to make the recent trades because he was worried about the potential long-term effects on the team alongside Jeff Teague. Green has always been mindful of his Warriors’ side and this recent revelation showcases the love he has for the Warriors.

We was just about to make some trades last week, and I told them straight up, ‘Yo, that trade help me. It’ll help me right now and my career these last couple of years and Steph. But I’ve always spoke to y’all from a place of what’s best for this organization. I won’t stop now. That’s a bad trade. Like, don’t do that trade. I disagree with it, although it’s going to help me right now.’

In addition, Green also stressed his views regarding his former teammate Klay Thompson leaving for the Dallas Mavericks during the 2024 NBA Free Agency, claiming how gutted he and the Warriors star Stephen Curry were after seeing their best mate leave the franchise. It now remains to be seen how the Warriors perform in the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season.

Draymond Green has one request if he ever gets traded by the Warriors

Draymond Green has recently garnered a lot of attention regarding his recent take on his current side, the Golden State Warriors on the Club 520 Podcast alongside former NBA player, Jeff Teague. Green claimed on the Podcast that if he was to be traded by the Warriors (which seems highly unlikely) in the future, they should trade him to the Detroit Pistons.

I pray to God if [the Warriors] ever feel the need to get rid of me… If they [are] going to send me to any non-winning organization, then send me to Detroit. That's the crib... I much rather it be Detroit than Charlotte.

Green, a Michigan native, attended Michigan State during his NCAA basketball career. For this reason, the four-time NBA champion would prefer to play for the Pistons if he were to wind up on a losing squad. Maybe by the point that Green is available for trade, Detroit will not be as awful as they are right now due to a rebuild.
