Draymond Green knows a thing or two about how good Nikola Jokic is. The Warriors star has faced the Serbian on many an occasion to know what he can and cannot do.

Be it his unbelievable understanding of the game or his court vision, which leads to some unreal passes, as he sets up his teammates to win a lot of games, and the 2023 NBA championship. Or his otherworldly ability to score from anywhere, and while facing any kind of pressure from opposing defenses, the 30-year-old has been known as a player like no other.

Whenever such a unique player comes through the ranks, it is natural for scouts, fans, and those in the media to look for prospects who have similar skills.

Just like everyone is still looking for the next Michael Jordan, many want to see if new versions of the ‘Joker’ exist. It seems this year, there are inclinations of the possibility of a few young players who might fit the bill.

I have to guard Joker, you mean to tell me everybody’s just Joker? Outta here. No disrespect to Danny Wolf, I haven’t played against him. But, enough of comparing everybody to Joker.

Draymond Green said on his show

For the rumor mill to claim that Brooklyn Nets rookie Danny Wolf has been christened as the ‘Jewish Joker’ left Draymond Green shaking his head.

He admitted that he does not have 1st-hand experience to know how the 27th overall pick is, but still does not consider anyone to be remotely close to Nikola Jokic.

2025 rookie class has 3 possible Nikola Jokic clones

Draymond Green might not want to label anyone as the next Nikola Jokic, but given time and development, three rookies from the 2025 Draft class could emulate the Nuggets superstar.

So far, Danny Wolf has displayed traits that some might feel are preparing him to have a similar impact as the Joker for the Brooklyn Nets. He matches the 3-time MVP in height, can shoot from anywhere, has a soft touch, and has very good footwork when his back is towards the basket.

On top of that, he has also displayed some of the passing abilities Jokic is famous for. The American-Israeli may not be as flashy as the father of two, but given time and development, he could. There is Chinese prospect, Yang Hansen. The Portland Trail Blazers felt that the similarities were too good to pass up, and surprisingly selected him with the 16th overall pick.

He may not have had the opportunities in the regular season, as the franchise usually sends him down to their G-League affiliate. But given his potential, the center could soon be Jokic’s Asian version. Lastly, one has to consider New Orleans Pelicans star Derik Queen. After initially working his way up the minutes board, the Maryland native has seemingly taken over from the injured Zion Williamson.

In his last game, he recorded 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, along with 3 blocks. He may not have the flashy passes Jokic sends out, but he does have an elite awareness of his teammates. Given time, Queen can also become the next version of the European superstar.

Those rookies have a long way to go before matching Nikola Jokic

All those prospects and any other that comes into the NBA will have to work hard if they are to ever match Nikola Jokic. There is a reason why Draymond Green banished all comparisons, as there is simply no other player like him.

Now, in his 11th season, the Sombor native is still without a doubt the best, if not one of the best players in the league. He leads everyone by a comfortable margin in the assists’ column.

Then, he reclaimed his status as the best rebounder in these past few games. On top of that, he is 5th on the scoring charts. If he keeps up with those numbers, voters will find it difficult to not hand him his 4th MVP award.

Then comes the matter of the championship battle. If there is one team that almost was on the verge of stopping the Oklahoma City Thunder from winning their 1st-ever NBA title, it was the Denver Nuggets.

This season, they have an improved roster, and are working their way towards ironing out their schematic changes. Once they will dial it all in, expect Nikola Jokic to lead the charge to dethrone the Thunder from their perch. That is a tall order for those rookies to overcome.
