Draymond Green, Stephen A. Smith and LeBron James

The Stephen A. SmithLeBron James confrontation made waves in the NBA in the last few days. Just when the matter was about the cool down, James’s friend and NBA rival, Draymond Green, entered the discussion. Smith called James ‘weak’ on the Gil’s Arena Podcast. Regarding this, Green went off on Smith on the latest segment of his show.

In the weeks following James and Smith’s disagreement over Smith’s recent comments about LeBron’s son Bronny James, people have taken sides over who they believe was correct. Draymond Green, the Golden State Warriors’ standout forward, believes Smith was incorrect. As per Green, Smith was wrong for calling James ‘weak’ and criticizing James for the way he has fathered Bronny.

A lot of problems that guys have with media is… To call something that that man did (expletive) and weak… Like those are words, where we grew up… Like you get hands put on you… The problem that people have with media is, you go on there and go ‘Oh, that’s weak!’ Like… Weak?

After a January 28 match during which Bronny James failed all five of his shot efforts, Smith on ESPN’s First Take blasted the elder James. He stated that the Lakers star’s kid is “only in the NBA because of his dad.” Green stated that Smith should have spoken to LeBron James after their confrontation rather than publicly criticizing him and his son.

Before Green’s latest podcast episode, Stephen A. Smith had made it known that Green was not talking to him. On the Warriors’ stars part, he chose to side with James, who has been a long-time friend. Moreover, Green did not like the way Smith handled the situation.

Baron Davis chimed in on the Stephen A. Smith-LeBron James topic

Stephen A. Smith also said that as a result of his comments about LeBron James’s son, several NBA players are no longer communicating with him. Many former players, including Kevin Love, have expressed their opinions on the subject. Draymond Green had a positive relationship with the ESPN personality, but has stopped any communication.

Notably, Green’s co-host, Baron Davis, also chimed in on this topic. Davis, just like Green, took James’s side. The retired player stressed that the NBA media should be ‘lifting’ a star like James up rather than throwing shade on the player.

You really pay to say whatever you wanna say in this game but you like it or not but as a person you should be lifting him up cuz LeBron is a good dude, he do good sh*t, he a good dad.

Baron Davis said on The Draymond Green Show

Nevertheless, James won’t be heavily bothered by this anymore. He has other things to be focused upon this season. With Luka Doncic and James leading the way, the Lakers have a good chance of winning the championship. If they do, James and Bronny will create history as the very first father-son duo to win the title as teammates, making it difficult to replicate.

LeBron James reacts to EPIC Akron matchup

The Akron men’s basketball team has returned to the NCAA Tournament, and they did so in a dramatic manner on Saturday night. This was at the Rocket Arena in front of a national TV audience. The match was so good that it brought a reaction from none other than Akron-born LeBron James on social media.

After watching Akron’s Nate Johnson score the game-winner after an 18-point comeback, the four-time champion posted joy on X.

Johnson, the Mid-American Division Player of the Year, hit the game-winning. He floated a shot with 2.3 seconds left to lift Akron to a 76-74 victory over Miami in the MAC Tournament championship game. This was Akron’s second straight MAC Tournament title.
