The Golden State Warriors’ 2024-25 NBA season kickstarted when they faced off against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Warriors came out victorious by 139-104, though their star defender Draymond Green made headlines for the wrong reasons.

Green got into a heated argument with an NBA referee early in the game against Portland, which led to a technical penalty. With 2:20 remaining in the second quarter and the Warriors ahead 51-43, Green committed an unsportsmanlike penalty. This led to wild reactions from NBA fans on various social media apps.

Furthermore, after getting caught up with the Blazers’ Deni Avdija, the NBA veteran appeared to voice his disapproval of the foul call. This did not go down well with the match official and it resulted in a technical foul towards Green.

However, his technical foul did not hamper the Warriors’ performance as they saw out the win with ease. Andrew Wiggins scored 20 points and had two assists while Stephen Curry scored 17 points and had 10 assists, capping off good displays in their season opener. The Warriors will be looking to maintain the winning streak in the upcoming matches.
