‘King Von says murderers need psychiatric help’: Draymond Green’s assessment of Jusuf Nurkic’s struggles leaves NBA fans bamboozled
Fans reference the "King Von meme" as the feud between Draymond Green and Jusuf Nurkic continues to escalate.
Draymond Green faces backlash from fans after his hilarious slights at Jusuf Nurkic
The dispute between Draymond Green and Jusuf Nurkic has been a sight for sore eyes for die-hard fans of gritty rivalries in the NBA. While the two centers exchange blows both literally and figuratively, this rap-beef-style back-and-forth is garnering significant attention. As fans closely monitor the remarks of both parties, they have highlighted the hilarious irony in Green’s recent comments.
Recently, the Warriors’ veteran directed slight remarks towards Nurkic after the latter was ejected and suspended for three games for initiating an unexpected skirmish with the Mavericks squad. On his podcast, Green made light of Nurkic’s antics, questioning how Nurkic could “swing like that, and then get pushed on the ground, cry, and start whining about it.”
Mirroring the Bosnian center’s previous snarky remarks—”hope that brother got the help he needs“—here’s what the future Hall of Famer had to say:

It’s understandable why Green would dish out digs at his adversary; however, NBA community was quick to point out the hypocrisy. A flux of late rapper “King Von said end gun violence” memes began dominating the comments section. Another popular reference to hip-hop, the meme served as a reminder of Draymond Green‘s own infamous antics—kicking, shoving, punching, and using unnecessary excessive force—moments fans vividly recall from his career.
Nevertheless, the veteran and former champion chose a perfect time to turn the tables on his nemesis. The phrase “hope that brother got the help he needs” was first uttered by Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic. The remark was made last season after Green abruptly slammed Nurkic to the floor in a similar fashion.
Draymond Green suggests Jusuf Nurkic feared of facing him after “Too-Small” celebration
The Jusuf Nurkic vs Draymond Green action-comedy has been in production for over a year now. In December 2024, the rivalry marked his one-year anniversary. And since then, only more fuel is added to the fire as the two exchange taunts.
During their first meeting since Green’s suspension for hitting Nurkic, both big men went head-to-head, hurling insults and elbows. In that heated game, Green turned the tides on the 7 feet center once again after he reversed his “too-small” celebration on him. Their feud soon spilled over to social media where Green called Nurkic a “300-pound softy”

Nonetheless, fans are relishing this old-school rivalry where teams’ big men go at each other, one-on-one. During Green’s recent remarks regarding Nurkic’s suspension, he also alluded to the fact that Nurkic might have intentionally gotten himself suspended. Green mentioned that the Bosnian basketball player was set to match up against the Warriors next and was afraid of encountering him.
The Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors are set to clash on January 31, just a week before the February 6 trade deadline. Although Jusuf Nurkic’s future with the Suns remains uncertain, if he isn’t traded before the deadline, it will be fascinating to see how things play out between these two rivals.
