After Survivor Series: WarGames, there were several rumors floating around about Drew McIntyre‘s displeasure with his creative direction. In fact, it wouldn’t have been a stretch to believe that he would leave the company following his contract expiration in 2024 and perhaps join AEW. However, The Scottish Warrior has re-signed with the company and recently discussed his thought process behind this move.

On the Pat McAfee Show, Drew McIntyre talked about re-signing with the Stanford-based company. He claimed that they were constantly making humongous deals thanks to the billion-dollar man, Nick Khan. Further, he added that there were several opportunities if one got to the top.

Drew McIntyre deletes tweet aimed at CM Punk after allegedly taking a shot at AJ Lee

On the Pat McAfee Show, the former WWE Champion asked the host whether he seemed like an average troll. McIntyre explicitly claimed that he would tear Punk apart physically, and if he wasn’t married himself, he would take his girl too. The 2020 Royal Rumble winner received a ton of backlash for this comment and backtracked with a post on X.

The Chosen One clarified that what he said was a general statement, not specifically intended for anyone. He added that even when it came to CM Punk, there were some lines that one still did not cross. However, this tweet was later deleted by the former World Heavyweight Champion for seemingly no reason.
