Drew McIntyre rekindled his beef with Cody Rhodes on SmackDown this past Friday. They wrestled an impromptu match in the main event that ended in DQ when Rhodes decked McIntyre’s skull with the Undisputed WWE title. The company’s official X handle posted its clip by captioning that Rhodes put the Scot in his place. Taking offense to it, McIntyre has fired the shots.
‘The Scottish Warrior’ mocked the WWE page for its ChatGPT-styled post and even accused the admin of being on Rhodes’ payroll. McIntyre asked them to make it seem less obvious from next time. He slammed the ‘American Nightmare’ for being a coward and fraud due to the disqualification he caused to put an immature end to their clash.
What in the ChatGPT are you on about?! 😂

I know you’re on Cody’s payroll but try to be less obvious next time.

McIntyre didn’t mince his words, and he’s obviously irate with how things panned out last Friday. Before he and Rhodes went at it, McIntyre was scheduled to face Jacob Fatu in a No. 1 contenders match for the Undisputed WWE title. However, as everyone saw, Fatu was ambushed backstage before the match with blood leaking from his mouth.

The angle was done to cover up a real dental issue that’s been aching ‘The Samoan Werewolf’, and he’ll have to get it fixed. Reports suggest that the 33-year-old wouldn’t be out for too long. Speaking of who would be revealed as the kayfabe attacker of Fatu, at least McIntyre has denied any involvement with it.
He posted a video on X working out in a gym at 5 in the morning after having a terrible night on SmackDown. ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ was in some agony but vowed to make Cody Rhodes‘ life hell by issuing a warning for next week.
Is Drew McIntyre primed for Cody Rhodes rematch at Saturday Night’s Main Event?
It’s obvious that Drew McIntyre is hellbent on making Cody Rhodes pay. The Ayr-born wrestler has almost developed a habit of screwing it up whenever the stakes are high. At last month’s Wrestlepalooza PLE, the former 3MB member had the ‘Prodigal Son’ lined up for a Claymore Kick through the hood of the commentary table.

However, the referee’s intervention bought Rhodes some valuable seconds to get out of harm’s way. That miscue ultimately cost McIntyre the match. It was after that sort of disaster that prompted the Scot to accuse the referee of working in cahoots with the ex-AEW EVP.
McIntyre has resorted to using the term “Corporate Cody” to describe how he feels about Dusty Rhodes‘ younger son. And after what transpired on SmackDown, it might be safe to presume that the two of them will lock horns yet again in the near future, with Saturday Night’s Main Event being a possible destination.
Gallus member reveals scrapped main roster plans with Drew McIntyre
It’s been almost two years since CM Punk returned to WWE. And the wrestler who pushed the 46-year-old to his limits is none other than Drew McIntyre. They went on to have a trilogy of matches with their Hell in a Cell classic forever etched in the history books. The Scotsman wouldn’t have had such a career-defining feud with Punk had the latter not come back to the place he walked out on in 2014.

In fact, McIntyre was slated for something else in the months leading up to Punk’s groundbreaking WWE return. Recently, former NXT faction Gallus‘ member Wolfgang revealed fascinating plans WWE had for the faction in association with McIntyre on Mic Check with Mr. Anderson.
Wolfgang said that WWE had told them that they’d be promoted to the main roster soon. But the can kept getting kicked down the road. The Brit wrestler was under the impression that Gallus would join forces with McIntyre upon their introduction to the main roster.
Wolfgang says he "knows for a fact" that Gallus were planned for a main roster WWE call-up, with his belief being that they were planned to join forces with Drew McIntyre before CM Punk returned to the company:

However, after Punk’s emergence on WWE programming for the first time in almost a decade, whatever was in the pipeline for Gallus and McIntyre kept getting pushed back. There came a point when WWE didn’t need the NXT trio anymore. This year in May, the faction was released by WWE.
