WWE is gearing up toward a new era by moving its flagship Monday Night Raw to Netflix next week onwards. For many stars, it is a game-changing move, as they might be in line for a mega push in 2025. One such name is Drew McIntyre, who is expected to be receiving a blockbuster run next year. However, The Scottish Warrior recently revealed that he has no interest in becoming a World Champion in WWE.
In an interview with The Ringer, the 39-year-old star revealed that his desire to become a World Champion in WWE has significantly diminished in recent times. He explained that a World Title run would no longer add to his legacy. Instead, his current focus is on forging a deep emotional connection with the fans, a lasting approach that the former WWE Champion believes will sustain his career.
I never thought it’d be a point in my career where I said, ‘Currently, I don’t care about the world title. I don’t care about my legacy like I used to, because inevitably, people are just going to forget.

Moreover, The Scottish Warrior captured the World Championship earlier this year at WrestleMania XL. However, his reign was short-lived, lasting less than ten minutes due to interference from CM Punk. Subsequently, he failed once more to reclaim the title in his home country and suffered another setback, followed by an unsuccessful Money in the Bank cash-in, once again thwarted by The Best in the World.

Apparently, major setbacks on grand stages have dampened McIntyre’s interest in pursuing the World Title. While many fans are eager to see him reclaim championship gold in 2025, his aspirations remain uncertain. The WWE Universe has also speculated that McIntyre could be the ideal choice to dethrone Cody Rhodes as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
Drew McIntyre wanted to prove CM Punk wrong during his iconic feud with him in 2024
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre engaged in a heated feud throughout 2024, creating an iconic rivalry that defined their year. Both stars have frequently shared their reasons for their animosity, adding depth to their clashes. Recently, The Scottish Warrior opened up about the feud, revealing his motivation to prove The Best in the World wrong during their rivalry.

Speaking on The Ringer, McIntyre shared that during their first face-off in WWE, Punk looked at him as though he were the same person he was a decade ago. Determined to prove otherwise, McIntyre emphasized how much he has evolved over the years. He explained that he wanted to show Punk he is no longer the same individual but a far more vicious one.
The first interview we had [when Punk returned] I was able to look him in the eye to let him know I’m not the same kid I once was. He made the one comment.

This storyline evolved from a battle for supremacy to a deeply personal feud, culminating at Bad Blood in a brutal ‘Hell in a Cell’ match between the two stars. Though both Punk and McIntyre have since moved on from their rivalry, its aftereffects continue to shape their characters in WWE. The impact of their intense feud remains visible in their actions and motivations.
